LMAO, total brain fart there. So damn funny. Haha, can't even believe I wrote that. -
Tyler Burian‏ @TylerBurian 45m45 minutes ago Excited to announce my commitment to play football at the University of North Dakota. Thank you to everyone who made this possible #jets

So are we still waiting to add 1 more player for this season, or are we good to go? Anyone know when the schedule is going to come out?
-
I'm planning my weekends up from the cities too. Really wanted to do Montana St game, but kid has an event. Not sure I want to spend the money on tickets for a Gopher series but hoping to get up there for the football game. Definitely want to make it for the E Wash/Miami games. Hope the E Wash game is a meaningful one. Though just beating E Wash is meaningful in itself.

Have to imagine that the more UND see success in Football the more start times will be dictated by tv/broadcast availability. Not sure how that all works, but would have to imagine that will factor into it.

University of North Dakota Hockey 2017-18 Season

I feel like when I was younger I saw the gophers play professional teams from Europe in exhibitions. Could be wrong, or I suppose rules could have changed since then; but I remember them skating around looking like they belonged in NASCAR with the advertisements all over their equipment. -
-
Crazy to think those two plays are what kept the game close. Other than that UND played a pretty nice game, especially on D. Wish O has been clicking like they were later in the year. That final play is frustrating.

When does camp start again? Should be an exciting month ahead. We get to work towards Week 1 @ Utah, we will finally get some more football reading material, and we will see which true freshman are going to get the redshirts pulled to start the season. At this point, I'm even exited to see the updated roster and see who has done the work in the weight room.

ok guys, realistic thoughts. How much does the loss of Harris for UND AND the addition of Carrington for Utah impact this game. We have some depth at corner, but anyone we thing will be able to keep this guy in check, or at least limit his production? It'll be the first game, so I'm hoping they won't be clicking on all cylinders yet. I also expect UND to dial up pressure up front and get to the QB; can't let him have time to find his targets. Safety becomes extremely important now, because if I remember right it was blown safety coverage one 1, if not 2, TDs last year at bowling green that cost us the game. I'd like to think we will keep the run game in check, but the missing on a deep pass always makes me nervous. Can we just move the game from Aug 31 to July 31?

Can't remember the name but we missed on another good OL to a gopher PWO offer last year. I think he was a lakeville kid. Edit: Eric Rousemiller

Hard to not see what they are doing with today's world of twitter and other social media.

Yeah, personally I think the "slow recruiting" (my feeling too) has more to do with impatience for football season and football news than it has to do with actual slow recruiting. trying to remember how we got quite a few big commits last year after the recruiting weekend, where recruits attended games. Or am I remembering that wrong?
-
Can't argue with that; like I said, just anxious for any football news at this point in the summer. Really like the potential with this Rain Slater from Canada. Also impressed with a few other offers we do have out. I suppose some of these kids will wait to make there commitments until they can make their campus visits and maybe see a game. Would really like to get Marquis Majors. Would also like to land Audette or Carette; if not both. Gotta keep beefing up that O line to get ready for the MVFC.
-
Fair enough. Have to give the coaches credit for what they evaluate in person. They obviously see what they want in those kids. Just getting anxious to see some more names and play makers pop up.
-
Anyone have any insight on recruiting? I though we would see more offers out, considering both camps have wrapped up. Also a little curious about the last coupe guys that we have seen offers too. I know we recruit based on what our coaches see, not what other schools are recruiting them; but it is a little curious that we have put out offers to a few guys that only hold D2 offers. Yes, the Santiago only had one D1 offer argument can be made, but they can't all turn out like that either. Seems like there are still some pretty good names in Minnesota that are available. Were some of these kids at our camp? Are the coaches just waiting to offer, until the in-season recruiting weekends? Seems somewhat risky to wait too long, when kids may have other options out there; especially high talent kids. I trust Bubba and staff, just curious. http://247sports.com/Season/2018-Football/RecruitRankings?State=MN

Miller said he would follow up on it during Media day next week.

Would he have already applied for that then, and when would we know?
-
That would be great news if it happens.

.... anyway, regarding the upcoming season, is there anything new that we can try to project? Who will be the big player to step up into the CB slot. I expect Carter, Holm, and Hunt to all play significant roles, but who else? Dre Randolph seemed pretty like a pretty big commit when we got him, thoughts? Blubaugh has also seemed highly touted. As for Safety, who do we have that will get valuable reps to prep for next season when we lose Reyes? Obviously Stewart should slide into some serious playing time if healthy, but who else? I'm sure Flowers will get some playing time. Canady sounded like he was going to be a solid player coming out of HS. Jaxson Turner is a big dude, and comparable in size to Cole. Coaches must believe he can be an impact player if they moved him. What happened to Vashon Tucker; he also sounded like he has some solid offers coming out of HS, but we haven't heard much about him. Moving Turner back to safety makes me wonder if the coaches are just not very high on Tucker. Seems like we have more depth at safety, though a lot of it appears to be young and unproven. If the coaches can get a few of these young guys to step up; UND could have one of the best secondaries, and one of the best all around defenses in the country in 2018.

You are correct sir

This app is the big move that we were looking for from the Big Sky last season, when they announce their new app. Funny that this didn't seem to have the build up of the "big announcement" that the app did.
-
Obviously we will miss Reyes after this season, and I really hope we can find some solid replacements and depth at safety this year, but our CBs are going to be pretty loaded with talent in 2018. Carter and Harris will be seniors; Hunt and Holm will be Juniors; and quite a bit of depth behind them. I will miss watching Harris this year, especially after re-watching his pick 6 against N Arizona last night, but thank goodness Bubba has recruited talent and depth to the position (compared to only a few years ago). Harris's absence will provide extremely valuable reps for some other players that are in the mix.

Have to tell you, that was kind of a jerk move to mention that was on, as it kept me up later than I was planning Seriously though, those last 10 minutes were still intense to watch, not sure how I made it through them the first time around. Forgot just how close we came to not pulling off the comeback, between a 3 and out, called back TD, several other penalties, 1st and 35 at one point (I think) .... truly and improbable comeback, but so much fun to watch. Very impressed with the stream quality, as I just watched it from my phone last night. Looking forward to seeing it via Roku on my TV.
