Long battle to go, but sounds like Ketteringham is playing pretty well out there today.
-
Great to hear that a guy has put in that type of work and built that type of rapport with his teammates. As long as whomever is playing the best, and shows the most potential is starting, I don't care. I tend to lean Ketteringham, but that isn't based on much except for what I have read. I will say this, if it is Ketteringham, I think Zimmerman will show how a true captain should be. Even if he isn't starting, he can be a huge voice and leadership for the team. I've seen that before; Captain doesn't mean you are the best player, but that you can demonstrate some of the best leadership. Getting pretty pumped to see how this all plays out. 8/30 can't come soon enough!

I wouldn’t mind seeing it at OLB if he is fast enough. Not enough size at that position IMO.
-
Mason Bennet is up to 262. I like the sound of that. Would really like to see him take that next step.

So, big picture this makes everyone look like noting for arguing about the difference between 192 and 198. Not exactly Harvard vs Yale here.

Are we really going to resort to slamming NDSU’s education ? I don’t think it is really necessary to go there. Just makes our fan board sound like the jealous ex girlfriend. I work with several NDSU grads, they are fine people, intelligent, and good workers. Let’s stick to football

Agree with you to a point. I’m not a fan of flips, but you take em when you get em and you hate it when you lose em. As for hockey, much different process. Some of these kids start committing at like 13 or 14 before they know where they actually want to be for college and before the schools even know where their development will be at. It’s dumb. I think the majority of the people commenting are more tongue in cheek about NDSU stealing a kid with no other D1 offers when many (not all) Bison fans were chastising UNDs recruiting the kid in the first place. i do think it was tacky how the kid did it. Pretty simple to, rather than delete you prior commitment, simply thank UND for the opportunity, but announce you have weighed you options and are changing you commitment. No obligation to do this, but it is a character thing. im sure the kid has some talent, or NDSU wouldn’t have offered him, and I’m sure he will do well in that program. Onto the next recruit.

Double reverse with Toivonen. #burners

True, but the MVFC was strong (not that the BSC was not), but they had people lobbying for them. That being said, I don't think that any 6-5 team (I don't care who they are, or what conference they are in) has any business in the playoffs. As UND will be independent, we won't really have anyone in the committee room pulling for us if we are on the bubble. Best thing is to "Leave No Doubt" and get 8 wins. However, a "Quality Loss" to Washington will look better than a "Quality Loss" to Bowling Green. Granted we should've/could've won the Bowling Green game. Gotta put up a decent showing against Washington (meaning better than was Montana did last year; 63-7).

Doesn't surprise me, since he has the most (only) game time action with the team. I still expect to see Ketteringham be the guy, but it is nice to know we finally have some depth.
-
Not disagreeing with all of your points, but I think you can throw out the first season for the most part. None of his recruits, just starting to install his schemes, etc. I don't think you can throw out last season, but it was sort of an anomaly in terms of injuries. That being said, it also exposed the lack of depth that Bubba had built. I do agree that this season is huge in terms of the trajectory of UND Football under Bubba. Repeat of last season, and you need to start looking at your options. Though I expect to see a vast improvement, and some surprises this year. I always like Studs, but I think we will see much more complete play at the QB position this season. The size and talent is there at TE (use 'em). We have both size and speed in a nice WR core. RB, 'nuff said. D Line will be solid. LB core will look far better than the depleted group from last season. Corners should be fine, especially with added depth. My biggest concerns: O-Line (which could be a surprise), Safety, O-Coordinator (So many tools to work with here, use 'em)

Came in at 185 in 2016. Kid could have a monster final two years.
-
Jeez Cloyd is up like 23 lbs (267). Monster size, hopefully some monster results this year!
-
I just saw Jenkins weight too. Wow! Hope he has the speed and technique to go with that weight gain.
-
Since Teeder thinks he is too good for Training Camp this year (JK Teeder), I hope UNDFootball360 and Tom Miller are ready to write, because I am getting pretty anxious for some football material, and definitely need some solid reading to get me through the next few weeks until the first game. Can't wait!

10+ interceptions, 5+ TDs, Top 5 Draft Pick reasonable?
-
Agreed, every year, I'm interested to see who has packed on the pounds, and every year I am left searching for reliable numbers.
-
Thats a pretty open ended question. He is still on the roster on the website, so was something rumored, or what?
-
Good to know, I was hoping for a few other targets at RB
-
Think we have any shot at that Evan hull from Maple Grove? Kid is getting a lot of interest. Between him and that Zander kid, you’d be pretty set. Throw Otis in that mix too.
-
I would expect a significant change in that number. As the article stated, the team was decimated by injuries. That was particularly true on defense. LB core was depleted. Deion Harris was out all year. Cole Reyes was injured a ton. and that is only to name a few. If they stay health the defense should keep them in games, but Rudy needs to find a way to utilize the talent in ways that he has not shown. Get Oliveira and Santiago on the field. Line Santiago at WR at times. IF you use a reverse ... maybe try your speed guys. Can't stress this enough, but TIGHT ENDS!!!!! The whole picture cannot be blamed on Rudy, BUT he is the most pivotal piece of the puzzle in terms of improving his role, given the pieces that he has to work with; and they have recruited plenty of talented tools over the past few years.

Has there been any word or rumors on non-conference schedule. I remember reading something about a summit WAC Challenge, but do we know of any specific non conference games?

Coaches and Player should be watching and rewatching the Bison was in over SHSU from the playoffs last season. Blueprint on how to take it to that team.
