  1. Carolina is on a prospect signing binge right now. They did not have an AHL affilaite this season and it has hurt their depth. They need to restock the shelves which is why they are currently trying to sign all the prospects in their system as they plan on having an AHL team again next season. "For starters, the Hurricanes currently do not have any AHL veterans signed to two-way contracts. Last season, the Canes had 10 two-way contracts, meaning they had plenty of organizational depth. Furthermore, of those 10 two-way players, four played in at least one game for the Hurricanes over the course of the season, with two of them - Jalen Chatfield and Stefan Noesen - becoming NHL regulars out of training camp. The bottom line is that the lack of veteran depth will be a big hurdle that the team will surely have to face at some point during the season. The whole point of having those AHL vets is to 1) provide some dependable culture and experience for your prospects to learn from and, most importantly, 2) have dependable players that you can call up in the case of injuries. Without those players, your options when things start to go sideways are not promising ones." They had 14 players on entry level contracts this season and had them scattered around the AHL, ECHL, and Europe. This is not ideal for continuity as most NHL teams and their AHL affiliates work hand in hand on the systems they use.
  2. It was Blake's effective back check that led to the fluky goal that tied the game.
  3. The Chicago Wolves are an unaffiliated AHL team. I now most teams like to have their AHL team nearby so they can more easily manipulate the Salary Cap and per diems.
  4. If he signs with Carolina and doesn't make the team he could end up playing for 1 or a combination of these places next season. Colorado, springfield, Chicago, Wilkes-Barre or Norfolk. Carolina does not have an AHL or ECHL affiliate.
  5. Those high school teams had some other athletes as well. The Games i watched the brothers rarely played in the paint.
  6. Happens. I am pretty sure J.T. Miller was on campus when the Rangers who had his draft rights encouraged him to go play with Plymouth in the OHL instead.
  7. UND does have one and I believe she works with multiple sports.
  8. They have all played 4 years of College. I think guys enter the portal to keep options open if they want to possibly play the extra Covid year. I heard it might be tough for them to stay at CC as well due to their(school, not the players) academics as they don't have many grad school programs.
  9. not too mention they had 3 guys in deep below the dots
  10. Yeah. Leonard went a little Matrix on him to avoid the brunt. The intent was definitely there though.
  11. At the risk of repeating myself. Just kidding don't care. A large portion of our fanbase believes that other colleges and universities only field hockey teams so that we will have someone to play against.
  12. I don't know if he can't, but he doesn't too often.
  13. I said this a few times last year. The biggest problem we had on defense in the early season last year was our forward group.
  14. 2023-24 should have been his freshman year in college. Mistakes were made.
  15. "We review... all the fears and anxiety ...which are so inherently symptomatic... ...of a losing team. The mind is a strange thing, men. We must begin by asking it... ..."What is losing?" Losing is a disease... ...as contagious as polio. Losing is a disease... ...as contagious as syphilis. Losing is a disease... ...as contagious as bubonic plague... ... attacking one... ... but infecting all. Ah, but curable. Now, I want you to imagine... ...you are on a ship at sea... ...on a vast... ...calm ocean... ...gently rocking. Gently rocking. Gently rocking. Gently rocking."
  16. I call that the tap out game. UND would dump the puck into a corner and hammer the Gopher D and take the puck over and over and as the game went on UND would dump the puck in the corner and then go get it as the Gopher D tapped out and offered zero resitance and quit even trying to possess the puck.
  17. "Hamina Hamina Hamina Hamina-Ralph Kramden
  18. Yep. Me too. Cancelled Sioux Falls hotel rooms, still have St. Paul
  19. If I remember correctly, each school is allotted 250 or 500 tickets. UND will sell their through the Champions Club. I would guess the other 3 schools will probably not sell their complete allotment and either turn their tickets back in or if they have good relations with the other teams can give(sell) them to another school. The tickets not in this allotment look to have already been sold but I would check the site again this week because if the tickets are turned back in by the schools they will be available to purchase. I would also check with the other 3 schools and see how they are selling their tickets....especially if the demand is not there for them to sell through them. You may be able to purchase them directly from those schools....I have done this in the past.
  20. I would pencil in BC and DU for St. Paul Minnesota or BU to advance from Sioux Falls I think any of the 4 from Maryland Heights could advance.
  21. Not very good I heard. I guess they were moving people to the lower bowl from the upper bowl.
  22. Add it to our 2005 Beanpot title.
