I think that's my main problem with it. I've gotten over the idea of it being "boring" and/or "basic" .... those are just connections to how awesome the Sioux head was. My problem is that I don't think it looks good on jerseys. It's too thin and horizontal. It doesn't fit as a dominant focal point on a jersey. Since it was birthed, I thought it would WAY better as a secondary logo.

Ditto and it's honestly not that close. I'll never understand anyone who says the rivalry is gone. They clearly haven't watched/listened to/felt the crowd energy around these games recently.
-
I gotta think it's because they are part of the MN colleges system that's requiring them. My guess is Sandy isn't a fan of it based on this weekend lol.
-
Yep. If DDC wasn't too lazy this week, he would have picked split, too. Close to the same scores, as well
-
That's fair. I guess "fine" is a relative term, sorry. Would be an interesting investigation to see if any of that can be related to the name change argument/issues.
-
Yeah, I don't disagree. We're going in circles and I'm sorry that I'm contributing to it. I still don't really think it affects the University all that much. The school is doing fine and so is the athletics program.
-
Flu bug. My guess is we won't know who is officially out until lines come out.
-
Is this hurting the University at the moment? I think it isn't a good thing long term, no doubt. With that said, if it's not hurting the University, it's just a matter of contention and annoyance rather than something actually of worry.

It's not worth winning.... IF YOU CAN'T WIN BIG!

Depth needed this weekend .... grrrr
-
Again, I honestly think you're right that they should, but what is the problem that they aren't? It seems like you just don't like it. Which is fine, but I'm sorry, that doesn't mean it's a problem for the University.
-
Don't overthink it, honestly. Think normal, non-pandemic, seasonal type nonsense. Stuff we usually deal with a bit every season.

I think your points are pretty spot on. I honestly don't disagree with anything you said, but I just don't really see the problem with the name change issue. Is any of this honestly a problem that's affecting UND? From your POV, what issue is really at concern, here? What do want to happen? And why is it such a problem to the University? I would love to see numbers and facts if this nickname "issue" is a big deal to UND donations, academic performance, athletic recruiting, athletic performance. If it's not, what's the problem?

Because pepperoni pizza effing wails?
-
Ok? Thanks? Like I said earlier, feelings on the name have already started to turn the corner. I'm of the belief that if people just chill the eff out, it'll work itself out. Get my point?
-
EXACTLY! And people lecturing others about it is a big reason of why the issue is still around! Live your own dang life.

Love how this team has played the past four games. These next six are pivot points for the season. I'm hoping for 3-3 or better .... 4-2 would be phenomenal. From what I've seen with Duluth, we are fairly similar. A couple standout players, but top to bottom, strong team that needs to play that battle style to win games. Home edge give us the advantage. UND wins tonight 4-2 Juddy, Gaber, Moore, Frisch

These three sentences are a massive part of the problem. Stop telling people how to feel about it. It's drips with arrogance and condescension, and people just don't want to hear it. The Sioux Forever crowd overwhelmingly understands the name is what it is and that it's not coming back. They aren't mentally struggling with it as it's not a hard concept. They are just being who they are and reacting the way they want. You want this "issue" to go away sooner? Let people react their own way and just go about your own life.

My guess... Evan Trupp would have found out about UND hockey without picking the one hat. Cute stories aside, if a player wants to play college hockey, they know about UND.
-
Recruiting? No. I'm sorry, but kids come to our program because we have the facilities, resources, coaching, and tradition to get them to the NHL. If a kid isn't going to come to UND because of a crappy logo, frankly, we didn't want him here.
-
I'm sorry, but that is absolutely awful. Those would bomb in sales. The logo... flat and wide... is not a good fit as a primary logo. The pick stunned me when we got it and still stuns me today.
-
Just more of the "get over it" crowd telling the other how to feel. Such a boring, arrogant, and useless argument. The resistance to the name has absolutely softened and will continue to do so.
-
So it be done. I couldn't pass it up hahaha.

Let's Go Brandon! Sorry, I had to do it
