I know there's still some nerves around the future pipeline, development, etc. (I, for one, love our pipeline, but as GF says, when have I ever not loved it? LOL), but my goodness, this team came into shape pretty dang well. Big props to Bubs and crew. This looks like a playoff team on paper, without a doubt. OF COURSE, we all said that last year, but that doesn't mean we shouldn't be optimistic.

Idk about you all, but that feels like a really odd fit. But, they did lose a lot of bodies, so he's gonna have opportunities. Wish him the best, just not against his old team

It really can't be understated. No mistake, this kid is very good. But, it's not just the talent, but the fit. He really, really fits into what we need (RHD, solid defensively) and he's got three years left. Absolutely fantastic that we got him.

Watching him play. It's really that easy.

LOL we understand the point. Most of us completely agree. This is a discussion thread about the portal -- additions and subtractions. I'm just exhausted with conversation in EVERY thread devolving into everything all doom and gloom all the time. We picked up a good player today. That should be the discussion.

LOL you're ignoring what I asked. Jandric was our best overall defensemen last year, IMO. He was a portal get. Getting important players from that setting is incredibly important this year, and we've seemingly gotten some very good players. AGAIN, this is NOT about the future. It's about filling current need.

Take the name of the front of the jersey, the kid had a great year and he's a physical beast. Do we take him then? How do you feel about Jandric? He played at Alaska. Pyke. Alaska. The portal is a current need. We've gotten some of the best, if not the best, players out of the portal so far. Again, the conversation about overall recruiting isn't a bad one. It's fair to be worried about the recruiting in general. This thread isn't about that. It's about the portal and we've got some solid incoming kids.

His game was noticeable last year against LU and he had a really good season. He's not a top line winger, and if you're expecting to have UND fill that spot in the portal, you're sadly mistaken. He's filling an immediate hole left by Judd. Again, this feels like two different conversations. Yes, it makes sense that UND shouldn't be dipping this hard into the portal. However, this is a great pick up for the immediate needs of the team.
