  4. I LOVE this one. I'm gonna start using it in day-to-day situations. "StoneySioux, is DDC picking a sweep this weekend?" says the college hockey fan. "Top cheddar, baby," replies StoneySioux, emphatically.
  5. Maybe it has to do with who he played with? Frattin, Gregoire, Knight, Grimaldi, Trupp, Malone, Nelson... some pretty prolific scorers/playmakers. 5 of which who have played in the NHL. That being said, I think Danny was an elite college hockey player. Drake is close.
  6. Lol the old adage "up where grandma hides the cookie jar" aka... Going top shelf for a goal.
  7. Again... Fair enough. My Rangers/Sioux fanboy came out a wee bit .... But my point is that he is doing enough offensively to be in the show. Just gotta keep improving defensively and he'll get there. The Rangers tendered him last year, I believe, and I really hope they resign him. I've never had a Sioux alum play for my team and after the J.T. Miller disappointment (not to mention Mantha and Tambo are in the system), I'm really hoping he gets to the big club.
  8. He did, at times, last year, blow up. Regardless... my point is... offensively, he's doing enough to be in the show. But he's behind a lot of talent. A different team may have had him in the NHL all season.
  9. Really? That dude was a BEAST his senior year. Caggs has work to do to get on that level, IMO. What do you think set Caggs over Kristo? As a Rangers fan, I've followed Kristo very closely. I don't think it has a lot to do with Danny but the players that the Rangers have in their system. He has lit up the AHL for two years now and every comment from the coaches says he's still developing his defensive game and that he's very close. He plays the exact style of play that the Rangers want and he'll be in the show soon, IMO. They are loaded with talent and that's hard to beat sometimes.
  10. Having two committee members does not a committee make. If the NCAA wants Minny in Fargo, for whatever reason and it's justifiable, they'll be there.
  11. Brian, isn't a shot at you, btw. I just don't buy it. I think we definitely deserved 6 points this weekend. Zane was certainly a part of it, but not the end all, be all. I feel like so many of us are looking for excuses to degrade this team. This team has lost 6 freaking games! Why does it matter if it's by 3 goals or 13? We are going to need to grind out teams en route to No. 8. I doubt we blow anyone out the rest of the year and I see absolutely nothing wrong with that if we keep winning.
  12. These three are gonna be beasts. All three are strong now. Imagine what they'll do with an offseason of strength training.
  13. I think they are as good as CC. Not a lot of talent but they work their tails off. Again, UND dominated both third periods this weekend. It took two empty netters to get it to OT. Skill won out in the OT.
  14. Zane was clearly a huge part, but UND dominated WMU in both third periods this weekend. Two ENG goals hid that fact tonight. You're making it sound like these two teams are even if they shared goalies. I'm sorry, but they are not.
  15. I called the 3-1 game last night so here's to the "Stonestradmous" sweep!!! 4-1 Chyz, Parks (had a tough game last night. Needs a bounce back), N. Schmaltz and Pogo
  16. I think we fans give Donny and Minny a little too much credit to be able to influence the NCAA. Lucia isn't going to weasel out of anything. If the committee wants UM/UND, it's gonna happen.
  17. Only thing thst really gave me a chuckle was that poster saying we were or are intimidated by them. No lol.
  18. As simple and as true as that is... We dominated the overwhelming majority of that game.
  19. Ok... I'll admit it... I was "that guy" today. I perused another team's fan board today. I'm bored... So be it... This guy is a gem... Anyone else think we were "intimidated" by Western? Anyone see a player who looked "wore down" ... Excellent grammar haha... What was the "message" that was sent? That they'll be anything better than a bottom feeder? No... Lol I think it's laughable... (Today 01:16 AM)wmu2012 Wrote: The end of the game was imbarassing. We picked a fight because we were losing just stupid behavior led by Murray. I'm ok with this and very proud of what happened toward the end. Over the years North Dakota has the reputation of a playing style of trying to physically intimated players/teams by playing with an edge. I love Hargrove working hard going to the net, leaping over a fallen North Dakota player, he falls and while he is getting back to his feet bumps into the smaller Stecher who intern flies into McInter. This was certainly less innocent than than what a North Dakota player did earlier in the game going hard to the net and running Hafner (no call here). The North Dakota player cross checks Hargrove after the whistle and then tries to get in Hargroves face to teach him a lesson. Things get chippy, but Hargrove sends the message back Broncos wont be intimidated. What I like is how everyone grabs a guy and what we end up with is WMU on top off every single North Dakota player. Who's intimating who now? http://ndgoon.blogspot.com/ My favorite moment was Goff cross body throw of Odonnell and pinning him down on the ice. After Odonnell says uncle, Goff kindly lets him up, but Odonnell thinks he is free to take on another Bronco. Goff responds by going over to Odonnell with one hand grabs him by the throat and pins him up against the board as Odennell squirms helplessly The tone has been set with North Dakota as they know we are not a team who can be physically intimidated, in fact, the after last night they know the Broncos are actually more physical than they are. They also found out we are a very quick team and can skate with anybody. Did you see how shocked/surprised and wore down the North Dakota player who was interviewed after the first period? Broncos did nothing wrong in the end, stood their ground and sent a message
  20. Thank you!!! Glad someone sees it how I did. We were so much better than them 5 on 5 and.
  21. I would LOVE to know how Western matches up well with us. Sure didn't match up last night. Don't come around here with the "No Namer" garbage. This is our board, buddy.
