  1. I thought about that, too, but it's not just our skill that's winning, it's effort. Top to bottom, all zones. This team has bought in. Skill can wane from game to game, but if we bring it like we did this weekend, our skill will continue to roll teams. It's one thing to be better then a team, it's a whole different to outwork them. We're getting both. This team, man. Pretty special, right now.
  2. If I stole it, I apologize. Not intended!
  3. I never saw the Hrkac Circus play, but it really is a different game, these days. Please don't anyone mistake this for belittling their numbers, but it really is a different game. I feel like their skills are definitely similar. I think the CBS line is on par with the DOT. Kind of a fun parallel. First rounder that is a play-making center but has a knack for scoring (Toews and Schmaltz), another first rounder, this one that's a big-bodied, goal scoring threat (Osh and Boeser) and an undrafted Hobey Baker candidate who has a nice shot and a nose for goal scoring (Duncs and Cag). As for who's better... I think we'll see. Watching both play, I think the CBS line might be more dominant at this point in the season, but the DOT line did it all year. Lastly, it's not a matter if this line can win one, it's simply if they will. The talent is clearly there to lead us to the promised land.
  4. Excellent point about all three holding place on the PP. Idk if I ever seen puck possession on a PP like these three get. In my opinion, Schmaltz is the best player on the ice whenever he's on the ice and that includes his line. His vision is truly special. Always in the right spot and sees plays way before anyone else does. He's the best passer I've ever seen at the college level. And for the bolded part -- ABSOLUTELY. This line is really, really special. Get ya popcorn ready, right siouxstudent?
  5. He's got a good shot, great creativity and plays defense/backchecks like a banshee. Dude definitely has a shot to get a pro deal at the NHL level. At minimum, he'll be in the A.
  6. Regardless, your point is still valid. Like I said, pretty much what I expected from the crowd, tonight. Completely understandable, in my opinion.
  7. He's been a completely different player this year. Elite.
  8. I swear I heard University of North Dakota scoring, not Fighting Hawks. Am I wrong? Looker said "Fighting Hawks at full strength" after every kill and that definitely brought the boos. Not sure how I feel about it, but I certainly get it. First game at home with the new name. Pretty much what I expected. I feel like it'll taper off by year's end. Especially if we are playing like we did tonight. Won't matter what we are called. We play defense, special teams and score like we did tonight, the rest of the year, this will be a special run. Awesome stuff.
  9. Pogo was a MONSTER tonight. Drew the first two penalties and was huge in front. Great job from 14.
  10. Best 60 by far. Great team effort, right from the drop. Team defense was overwhelming, particularly on the PK. Awesome play from our boys.
  11. He's gotta be a better skater. I think that keeps him here one more year, at least. The rest of the game, including his effort on defense and backchecking, is truly elite.
  12. If LJ isn't a top 6, I think he has to sit. Just doesn't fit a checking or energy line. He'll come out of it. IN FACT! Let's go 4-2 UND with an ENG. Lots of lines chipping in. LJ x2 (one being the ENG), Olson, Boeser
  13. At what point do we need to put Gardner up with the "1st" or third lines? He's been really good.
  14. I know, I agree. That's why I said "too". I've never been shy of giving people credit when it's due. I'm going to be very happy to watch three first rounders play on one line together next year
  15. I'd sat we'really doing pretty darn good, too
  16. Based on what?!?! I have to hear more about this. I used to listen to KFAN every day. Now it's just too hard to stomach, at times.
  17. Chay, albeit just one game, I believe.
  18. Completely agree. Gardner looks like a mid-round draft pick. Love his size and his ability is much higher than I expected coming in.
  19. He and Gardner sure have been pleasant surprises, haven't they?
  20. I'd say H gets the start, but wouldn't be surprised to see Cam since he played well. JJ should get in for Sanderson and Keaton for Shaw, I'd think. I'll go 4-2 Stetcher, Boeser ×2, Pogo
  21. Not a worry, brother. I'm just being needy haha
  22. Anyone have goal videos from last night? Goonie??
  23. I agree 150%. Can't wait for Saint to get back. Need him on the PK big time.
  24. Agreed. From what I saw in that game, he's a D-I talent.
