  1. I'm asking why it matters. I'm still going to go to games, buy North Dakota gear, donate to the school, but AT THIS POINT (again, this can change), I don't want to support the name. Tell me what's the crime in that. Please.
  2. So it's a pre-req to be a "true fan" of the university to "suck it up and own the name"? Roger. I'll get right on that. Why does it have to be like this?? Can't I just be upset and still support my school? I thought I was doing that, but evidently not. Cripes.
  3. Completely fine with the second one. The first one has that same awful font.
  4. Completely agree. That meh font shirt is the first impression and to me, it's not good. Seems rushed.
  5. Thank you! That's all I'm saying. I wouldn't buy THIS SHIRT because THAT SHIRT looks awful. Cheap may be the wrong choice of words. Underwhelming? Bleh? Meh? I'm completely fine with buying a Fighting Hawks whatever in the future if the logo is decent and the font isn't that ugly.
  6. Exactly! Just a cheap and poorly made first impression, IMO.
  7. Pretending it doesn't exist and not buying a shirt with a new name on it are completely different ideas. Despite having full understanding that this name is going nowhere, I still think that shirt looks like garbage and won't buy it. Looks like something they just slapped together for Christmas to make some extra money. Not a good first impression, for me.
  8. "Cool" or not, I think that shirt looks terrible. It's a font thing, not a name thing. You seem to have left out the line directly following saying that I am hopeful for a new logo looking good. And someone said that it would? C'mon. What's so hard to understand about people not wanting to buy the new gear? It may be an easy transition for you, but for others, it is not.
  9. Yuck. That font is no good. My guess is that that font won't be connected to the official logo. Just random letters slapped on to get a couple shirts sold. Color me optimistic, but I am looking forward to see what they come up with for a new logo. Although I am nervous of it being horrendously generic, I think it does have a lot of potential.
  10. Me too.
  11. Them being on the US national team probably helps, but you could be right.
  12. Maybe during his draft year and for a couple weeks while he's battling for a starting job and then never again when he's a career back up
  13. It's Christmas break for hockey. Not sure what else you woulda thought was going on here haha.
  14. Think they know who Jonathon Toews, Zach Parise and T.J. Oshie are? Just sayin *pokes Bison(z)*
  15. Hahahahahahahaha. Oh, wait. You're serious? Oh. Well, that's cute. Are you talking about just for you? If so, alright. But it'd be a much bigger deal to GF for the hockey team to win one, IMO. I love the football team, but no. Just, no.
  16. definitely will sort itself out as we play Omaha four times in the second half.
  17. The thing about those games were they were exhibitions and didn't mean anything. We lose one of these games to UAH and that hurts our PWR, big time. Bubbs will have the boys ready to go. They get it. This team sure has had a special first half.
  18. From Twitter 9-8-16 25-27-18 29-10-14 19-22-11 20-2 4-6 28-3 33 30 I'm a little surprised to see Wolanin out in favor of Shaw, but I don't mind. I like Shaw's game. Does this say something about UND wanting to keep UMD's forwards at bay or that Shaw outworked Wolanin this week?
  19. I'll be bold and pick sweep. I just really like how we've played, of late. Last weekend will show the boys that if they give the kind of sustained effort they did for 120 minutes against DU, they have the ability to be really, really special. I think this keeps the motivation level high. 5-2 with an ENG Brock, Cag, LaDue, Chyz, and Simo
  20. Definitely agree with that. After this weekend, regardless if we do stumble at some point of the year, which I'm sure we will, UND will be able to look back at the Denver series and know that when they are at their best, they can beat anyone. It's not just the talent, it's the effort. The compete level was through the roof for 120 minutes this past weekend. Couple that with a really tremendous group of talent, it'd be silly for anyone to think we aren't the cream of the crop, or AT MINIMUM, right near the top.
  21. I'll agree with this, but does it have anything to do with the talent we have on the current sqaud? I'm not fully convinced it's a Barry vs. Hak system kind of thing, I feel like it's a talent thing. I don't seem to remember the DOT line, the Pony Express or even the likes of Nelson, Kristo and Knight dumping the puck in very much. Seems like these guys all created plays into the zone because they had that ability. We haven't had this kind of talent in a forward group over the last handful of years, but when we have in the past, I feel like it has looked a lot like the play UND has brought this year.
  22. Bring it on, Dawgs. Gotta keep it rolling after a HUGE weekend. http://daddydumpandchase.blogspot.com/2015/12/roses-and-thorns-pulverizing-pios.html
  23. Is this real? Are you freaking kidding me?
  24. Raise your glasses, kick some a$$es... First verse first was.... eff the (insert team we played that weekend), eff the (team), eff the (team), in the a$$. Raise your glasses, kick some a$$es, eff the (team) in the a$$. That's how I remember it.
  25. I just dont know if it can stop them? All three of them just have incredible chemistry and are always a step ahead of the defense. Big hits that will draw space only give these three room to move. They all have ability to create space.
