Thanks for clarifying that! -

Berry and Hak worked together to recruit. Sure, we can put the onus on the HC, but they both had a hand. So, we can put Jost on both Bubbs and Hak, but we can also put Hoff on both, as well, IMO. If I'm not mistaken, the first true "Bubbs class" is the Kawaguchi, Mismash, Adams class. So, it's all Bubbs (and crew) from here on out. -

I think a big part of it was wanting to play for Blaiser. -

So, are you hoping for him to come out and tell you/us out of this? That just isn't going to happen. -

Our defense and goaltending are setting us up for a big year. Steps by Guchi, Mismash, Adams and maybe one or two others, coupled with good freshmen scoring, we absolutely have the tools to make a really big jump. 3.5 GPG will make us very, very hard to beat. Very hopeful. -

Love it. D and goaltending certainly shouldn't be a problem next season. -
Well, that was fun lol.

Hahaha good to know. I just have a hard time believing that perception would change that quickly. Recruits, advisers and parents aren't typically as invested in the day-to-day work of a program like we are. -

Sorry, man. Hopefully that didn't come off as me attacking you, I just don't understand it, really. I personally don't think NHL scouts, recruits, parents of recruits, advisors, etc. would make a these conclusions, at this points. Decades of success, an NHL rink and decades of putting players in to the NHL don't go away from two or three average years. Can a trend be seen? Sure and it has to stop at some point for us to keep our clout, but this short of a time span seems really hasty to be making that conclusion, if they are. -

I know, I know, it was a silly cheap shot. I'll be honest... he's done well for himself, it seems. Sounds like there was more to it than Bubbs, but it is what it is. I hope the same for Adams and I don't think he's going anywhere. -

We've built up a long reputation of developing players. It's certainly more than two years. -

After two years? Jeebus, I can't believe people think this way. Honestly not saying you, burd, but is there any proof that prospects or people that advise prospects are thinking this way? -

And he's still meh at CC. Maybe he wasn't really that good? -
I mean, we didn't score a lot this year, so I can see how this would happen hahaha.
-
Don't get greedy. We already have it coming out of the corners
-
Feels like he's "tough" and old school guys like "tough".
-
We did. That's why we are bringing in 4 forwards who are true freshmen, with high skill sets and are highly rated. We missed on Hoff being a high scorer and the rest are Sophs and freshmen (Juniors and sophs, now) and we are still waiting to see if they score consistently. Getting a step up in play from those guys seems reasonable. Then, the impact freshmen make and impact and there you go.
-
Standards? That is "off the rails" ... I don't think UND needs to get to that point before looking at changes. Comparing football, basketball and college hockey are just not similar, but you can go for it, man. All good. Instead of the back and forth, I'll just say I don't think it's time to fire Bubbs and I'm willing to wait for the next couple years of recruits. You can feel differently, but I don't think it'll change anything.
-
That point was fair. Mine simply comparing Eaves last two seasons to UND's past two seasons. I think it's very much necessary to wait and see on recruiting.
-
And I have no reason to believe we're at that point. Two below average seasons do not equal off the rails, to me. I expect the next two years to be very good for our favorite team. If they aren't, that's where I'd be concerned.
-
4-26-5; 8-19-8
-
My point is that I don't think the Eaves comparison helps prove that it's time to get rid of Bubbs. I don't think this team is off the rails. Eaves' program was off the rails.
-
if you're looking at the two records of those seasons, I'm not sure how you can think those equate.
