University of North Dakota Hockey 2019-20 Season

Ope... you blaspheme. -
That doesn't fly at UND unless you're elite and even our elite players (I think immediately of Danny Kristo), eventually learn to play in all zones.
-
No, he's joking, alluding to Allentown, PA being the current MW regional.
-
Wilkie didn't struggle here due to a lack of opportunity. I think it was about a lack of strong skating to get open space and get his shot off. He's grown up as a player, gotten stronger, faster and improved overall, so he's now able to get open.
-
Hahahaha well played
-
A point per game? Yes, please.
-
Spot on.
-
Well said, Krusty. Well said.
-
Let's get this going. Big, big bounce back last Saturday in Duluth. We're 6 points up on Denver, playing CC who is desperate for points. I'm expecting Thome to start on Friday and dude absolutely earned it. We're coming down the stretch. Keep it rolling.
-
Cmon, man. Even had we lost tonight, we'd still be leading the NCHC and likely a Top 3 in the PWR. Why do we all overreact so hard?!
-
First 40 was fine. We won the first half of both the first and second, IMO. Wheels fell off in the third as we got desperate and out of position. I believe in the team and the skill we have. I believe we'll see a good bounce back.
-
Ugh. I just don't see it with Thome. He's just not very good positionally nor moving side to side. Against the pace of UMD, this not a good thing. I want Scheel back in there.
-
100% agree with this. We absolutely dominated that first 10 minutes of the second. It was a big time let down.
-
Brad could have left GF several times for much more lucrative ventures. He just loves what he does.
-
I'll push back on that a little bit. He made a couple really big saves last night. But frankly, we can't expect him to stop ALL what I think was 5 breakaways last night. He'll definitely want back a couple of goals last night, but, the dude has it in him. All mental, at this point.
-
Alright, again, let's turn the page. Get the split and all is well, IMO. Very, very interested to see who starts in net. 5-3 UND
-
Frisch has been way, way more consistent defensively than Johnny, IMO.
-
He's been too inconsistent. Simple as that, IMO.
-
I mean, UND scores 4 goals per game and UMD is clipping at 27% on the PP. You sure? lol.
-
You kidding? We'll be back-to-back champs and people will be pissed if we don't get the third
-
My guess is that team that drafts him sees that UND knows what they are doing because we have 5 proven NCAA defensemen and his NTDP teammate in front of him.
-
Spot on. Again, Ryder Donovan would be in a suit nearly every night this season. He made his choice and I wish him luck.
-
If they don't want to come in here and work for a spot, what does that say about their character?
-
I could see Bast, Tychonick, Moore, and Kleven absolutely battling for those last two to three spots and I do not see that as a problem. Sure, you push your prospects to go here, but guys like these four aren't 2 year college players. Definitely get where you're coming from, but I don't believe Moore or Kleven would be put off by the idea of having to battle for ice time. And if they are, I'd be questioning their work ethic. Every player who comes to UND was the best player on their team at some point. Gotta earn the ice. I agree that developing NHL talent is a massive part of our recruiting, but so is winning national championships. Keeping Kierstad and JBD helps that possibility.
-
Who said they will sit? Did anyone think Frisch would be a mainstay on the blueline this season? Plus, the extra skater helps depth. I don't think losing Kierstad or JBD is a good thing, whatsoever, for the team. You come to UND, you aren't guaranteed anything. Gotta earn the ice time.
