I mean as long as the fans confidence doesn't affect how the team plays(spoiler alert:it doesn't) then it's not really an issue if some fans want to be over-confident or cocky. They only risk getting it thrown back in their own face so I don't have a problem with over-confidence. In fact, it's a 1000x better than woe is me, the Sioux suck, fire hak crap.

Yeah, I'm sure UND is looking past the biggest weekend of the regular season and their chance to hoist the Penrose Cup in the inaugural year of the NCHC. Don't get me wrong, I'm not saying it's going to be easy but echoing other's sentiments, we are a much better team than the one that swept the Broncos in their own arena. Also, I see WMU's PP is clipping along at 12.3%, good for 4th worst in the nation and ahead of only CC, Niagra, and Huntsville...and Sioux fans were complaining about our powerplay.

As much as I agree that there is a certain advantage that BC(and other East Coast teams) enjoy for not having to travel for regionals, what does that have to do with your assertion that a frustrating loss would help this team going into the tournament? I was simply pointing out that BC was able to win their conference tournament the past 4 times they won a national championship. So it would appear that playing(winning) more games does not hurt teams come NCAA tournament time.

Um... where will they put a tent in the middle of downtown Minneapolis? The set up is quite different from McGovern's in St. Paul, not nearly the room. However, I will be at Pourhouse "tuning up" for the games as well! Here's a picture of the outside of Pourhouse.

Like last year? We lost a frustrating play-in game and still didn't win it all and were out-skated by the eventual National Champions, the Yale Bulldogs. BC has won National Titles in 2001, 2008, 2010, & 2012. Guess what else they did every single one of those years? Won the conference tournament. In other words, the argument that the team won't have their legs under them because they roll through the tournament doesn't hold much water.

Yup, well put. That's one reason why I never really care what our "draw" is in the regionals because we are going to have beat some good teams no matter what, might as well earn it. I kind of doubt anyone outside of Yale fans had Yale coming out of our region last year.

No, but I had a problem with the Charter feed in Minneapolis. And by problem, I mean the announcer mispronouncing Connor Gordon & Troy Stechler's name, calling the penalty box the "naughty box", and being such an unbearable homer it would make Paul Allen 'Voice of the Vikings' blush.

Channel 999 in the TC is surprisingly good quality, announcers so far... awful

I know the exact feeling Mariucci! I was celebrating as hard as anyone when we had that amazing comeback in the Five. However, once those brackets came out I just knew MN would have it in for us & I hardly ever think this(I'm a biased Sioux fan, what do you expect). I was at the regional final at the X and was hardly even surprised when we lost, but the silver lining is that team really outperformed what most thought was possible. Since then, I've learned that no matter how big the game seems unless you're ending the team's season, don't get ahead of yourself .

You're just trying to start something with the annoyingly redundant "participation banners" crap, it's been played out. What I believe 'SJHovey' is trying to get to is the 13 wins, not 13 one-and-done tournament appearances. Point being, every game in the tournament is the biggest game of the season up to that point. Hak has come away victorious in these scenarios 13 times, that's not just participating.

Got Blake Coleman back though, and he notched 3 against us last time we saw him. You know what I meant, they're not the league doormat that we so often see. Unless they lay down against us like they did Saturday, but I don't see that happening twice.

Yup, I live in the cities too and live & work downtown so I actually walked to the Target Center on a break and picked up ticket packages. Got the lowest I could find in the upper deck for $60 for the series and no fees included. I figured I wanted to check the sightlines out before committing to lower bowl for the extra $. Oh, and as much as I hate saying it, we aren't exactly a near guarantee to make this tourney like we did the Final Five. I'm actually pretty nervous about it with Miami and CC surging.

I tried that at the Frozen Four in Denver, and the scalpers wouldn't budge a dollar so I said forget it and went across the street to watch the game in a bar(Jackson's I think?). I think the scalpers assumed that since I was a Sioux fan that I drove 1000 miles for the game. However, I was going to college in Colorado at the time, which is why $ weren't exactly growing on trees for hockey tickets. In hindsight, it worked out for the best because the game was pretty much over after the 1st period. It was tough to watch but would've been much tougher had I gave in to the greedy scalpers. I knew people that had taken an overnight bus from ND, and I'm sure some of you did as well, to watch the game. I remember feeling really bad for those people.

Ok, you can argue that expectations have been lowered on siouxsports.com. I don't agree but here's a better question: Why does it matter if a small sample of Sioux fans on a message board's expectations have been lowered? The real problem I would have is if Hakstol lowered his expectations and started acting like we had a good run and we were happy to get as far as we did. That has never been shown or alluded to by Hakstol or any player that has played under him. They're the guys that are sitting in the locker room at the end of the season and can't take their jerseys off while they break down in tears because they killed themselves for this program. Who cares if you think 'our' expectations have been lowered? The program still expects to win it all.

Haha at least you called yourself out on it. But I can't say I saw that game coming for Luke on Friday night, fun to watch though!
