  1. There's an inside walkway aka skyway to damn near everywhere in Minneapolis. Keep in mind though, that they generally close around 8-10 PM depending on the part of the skyway you are going through.
  2. Agreed, Bulldog fans were super friendly to me all weekend which makes them really tough to hate. It probably helped that we put a beatdown on their team. A 12 year old hockey player from Hermantown sitting in front of me said that Duluth is good unless they play North Dakota, then they suck
  3. And Blake Coleman is back, he sort of took it to us in Oxford and looks to be back to full form scoring twice against SCSU on Friday night.
  4. Clever, was referring more to how the NCHC is stacked with top to bottom with dangerous teams but yes I do believe they hand out a trophy as well.
  5. And what do we win? A meeting with a dangerous Miami or Colorado College, what a treat Not exactly Michigan Tech or Alaska Anchorage by any means, welcome to the NCHC
  6. ] Bump Hoping I can make the trip around 2 pm today
  7. Anyone driven between Minneapolis and Duluth? If so, is it driveable or what kind of speeds are cars moving at?
  8. Keep in mind Duluth is 4-5-3 at home, not exactly killin it.
  9. I agree, good player for sure but Frattin was on another level. But I don't remember Kozek being near as dominant when it came to the physical aspect of the game. Kozek did have a laser wrister but couldn't score anywhere close to Frattin numbers.
  10. Agreed, I thought he was dead and I just witnessed the last moments of his life.
  11. Yup, someone cue up a video of a Sioux player writhing on the ground in pain and getting up for the ensuing 5 min pp. If there is, I'll immediately withdraw my post but I don't ever remember it.
  12. Except that Frattin was bigger, stronger, had a better shot, and was the best player in the nation his senior year...yes, very similar
  13. Thanks for the update! I am leaving Mpls around 2 so hope the weather holds out til we make it up and then it can snow/rain Sioux goals all weekend !
  14. I always go to Grandma's and I seem to remember a good amount there before the game 2 years ago.
  15. Pretty sure there's already a fire hak thread. Please quit spreading the virus onto this thread because the bit is old.
  16. So I hate to interrupt all of the coach bashing, but I heard there was a game this weekend. Anyone got any predictions for the game? I was surprised that UMD is below .500 in their shiny, new building. Makes me think the home-ice advantage isn't much to worry about as I'm sure UND fans(including myself) will show up in droves. I'd like a win on Friday night to put my mind at ease then see what happens from there. Maybe a win and tie would be a decent showing for the pairwise.
  17. Great goaltending at the right time is this team's key and call me crazy but I think Zane could be the guy to do it. If Yale did it last year, why not us this year?
  18. Also, statistics show if we score more and give up less we win more often.
  19. Yeah, seems like they've been somewhat successful scoring under the "Hak System"
  20. I don't specifically remember that game offhand so can't comment. I've just never recalled watching the team going man that guy just didn't hustle. This team seems like it works hard to make up for the lack of high-end talent, at least to me.
  21. Out of many Sioux teams in the past years, I think if this team has any strength it's the effort they put out. At least from what I've noticed, they seem to always lay it out there as far as back-checking, and diving to get pucks out of the zone on the PK. The series that comes to mind is in Omaha when Simpson was puking on the bench and most of the team played Saturday night sick.
  22. ' Was just going to say that, chasing our tails here. It feels like the movie 'Groundhog Day'.
  23. The one thing that shocked me out of this whole post was that Denver spent $75 Mil on Magness? What a rip-off!
  24. With one fell swoop up of his keyboard, Berger could have us win 2 games this weekend...only time, and his predictions, will tell.
