  1. A college education is valuble, but I can't blame anyone for going pro. The money for one thing, not to mention fulfilling a dream and you never know when you'll get injured and not be able to make the big bucks. I'm a huge Wild fan and I would love to see Roche play next year! I'd also like to see Panzer play for the Blues someday.
  2. Goalies for 2003-2004: Parise - good chance since he's in Grand Forks this summer working with the team and article in Herald Ranfranz - also in Grand Forks working with summer hockey camps probably staying, had his moments and a reliable source says Dean likes his strong work ethic Brandt - arguably the best of last year's group Ziggy - articles in Grand Forks Herald say he'll be here Sofie - same article says Sofie will be here...he's a non-factor in the starter race with all the incoming talent Simba - gone...whether it was attitude or performance he's gone now
  3. I think initially Brandt will have the starting job because he looked solid in the post season and I think he will perform even better if he has to compete for his job...something he didn't really have to do a whole lot last season. I have faith that Blais will bench him if he is not the best goalie on the team. Brandt will start initially, he has the experience, he works hard on and off the ice, and he has a strong competitive desire to be number one. I really do not care who starts as long as they stop the puck from going in the net.
  4. The loss of David Hale is not my biggest concern about the 2003-2004 season. It is our nearly complete lack of goaltending. Brandt started the season looking good, but once on the road didn't do much to prevent the pucks from entering the net. He did look good against the Mavericks in the playoffs, but if he can't perform that well on a consistent basis the Sioux will be in trouble. Hopefully some of the goalies in the USHL who have committed to UND will help us out. The days of Goehring are gone; it's time to find the next great Sioux goaltender that can help put up an impenetrable wall in front of the home net!
