I figured that the Sioux would take at least two points, and had no doubts they would play the Dogs tough, even after their "tough stretch".

Did you have to squash any lap runners? The atmosphere sounded great at the DECC. Hopefully they will be able to cheer a bit more tomorrow. They were in the game until the 4th goal though. That shorty was a killer, as the Dogs seemed to be gathering momentum at that point.

4-2 UMD. UMD started poorly and never recovered. Reichmuth let in that softie, and it really deflated the Dogs and the crowd at the DECC. Dogs only outplayed the Sioux for portions of the second period, and were unable to capitalize on chances, shooting wide several times.

Thank you for the clarification. I was hoping you weren't belittling Geisler or Lessard by insinuating that they have somehow been the benificiaries of biased officiating, and that their accomplishments this season and in seasons past were somehow aided by officials. I also want excellent and fair officiating this weekend. That way there will be no way the Sioux fans can say they are still better than UMD after we sweep you. Less than 24 hours until game time !!!

Why would you say that? I've never seen Lessard get any special treatment... Geisler is a solid D-man, so there will be no need for him to mug anyone. Unless taking someone into the boards hard is mugging, you will see nothing of the sort from Geisler this weekend. Maybe because Prpich known as a goon...

My guess, should UMD finish ahead of the Sioux in the PWR (BIG if), is that they would be sent to MI. Closer to Daloot. (They still care about that in the NCAA's, right?)

While it is true that UMD does not take many penalties, I think that this weekend will play out one of two ways. It will either be very physical, yet cautious, as neither team wants to end up in the box...or if an incident like the late hit by Vanek happens, it could be a penalty filled slug-fest. I think that the first option is the most likely. Think it will come down to the PK of both teams. Whichever does a better job, that team will come out on top. No brooms at the DECC?? A result of the "premature discharge" vs. Minnesota I take it.

I have a question. What is the atmosphere at Senser's? Is it ALL Sioux fans? Will I be chastised and or threatened if I show up in a UMD jersey and cap? Are there other, less partisan bars showing the game...(fat chance, probably all showing UM v. DU)

True, however I was just providing my quick "Keys to the Game". UMD usually gets great goaltending, so it didn't stick out as a point of focus. Edit: This is directed at MNS, but NDH snuck a post in-between. NDH: Talk is cheap. I'm sure UMD fans will be bringing brooms as well. Perhaps an umbrella would be better equiptment, because the forecast calls for a 25% chance of "broom shaped precipitation" inside the DECC Saturday night!!

DHG, Beersong....I'm looking forward to seeing you guys dropping some serious weight this weekend!! UND will need stellar goaltending and defensive zone play in order to beat the Dogs. UMD will need to continue to break out of the zone with speed and efficiency, and capitalize on PP opportunities.

1. Dubay is an idiot. As much as I would like to hope it would happen, I highly doubt UMD will skate away with the McNaughton this weekend. This statement is a clear attempt to set UMD up, by making them think that they are favored going into the weekend, which is NOT the case. UMD is 0-3 vs. the Sioux this season. 2. Certainly not without a fight!! 3. True. If anything, the streak may put pressure on the Dogs. UMD needs to realize that a loss is not the end of the world, just the end of the streak (unless the loss comes after the final five). 4. True hockey fans, who know the history this season, would give a slight edge to the Sioux this weekend. I do as well. The crystal ball says: SPLIT. UND 4-2, UMD 5-2.

With UMD being #1 in the WCHA in scoring, and the Sioux a close second, I think that's pretty much out the window!!

Would Senser's show the UMD games on Victory as well? I really need to see these games!! Wouldn't mind mingling with some of the elite posters on this board to do it!
