Take care of business. Sikota is right. That said, I would just as soon see the Dogs win in Duluth. It will be good for their program, their fans, and for the league. It will also be good for Gopher fans and its program as well. Most importantly, it will go toward insuring that The Cup may well be on the line come February 27-28 when the two top teams in the WCHA face off at the DECC.

I have maintained from back before Christmas that both the Sioux and the Gophers will be in Colorado Springs. If Sioux and Gopher fans have not yet done so, buy your tickets to the West Regional now. They are going fast. The NCAA will find a way to seed us both there, as it does not want to see us both going to the Frozen Four. By the way, the WCHA is easily strong enough to have three teams at the FF. Maybe four if a team gets seeded into each Regional.

7>4 . . . We hope and plan to be. Since the old lady throwed me out, I've no Valentine's Day pressures. The women on "the wall" don't much complain, as long as I shut the lights down at night. There are tickets for you if you've a change of plan. Same for the Duluth series as well.

There is some deja vu. If we outshoot Mankato two weeks hence 55-13 and lose, then the season is doomed and essentially over. Unless and until that happens, this team still deserves our unflagging support. Wisconsin is a damned solid team. They were playing at home with their backs to the wall. We poured 43 shots on a good goalie. We have good goalies too. Unless any of you are willing to heckle our boys from our seats at The Ralph, I do not think it serves any purpose to do so with the anonymity that this board offers.

I don't think that this team is making a habit of losing, or that it intends to make a habit of losing. What, we have four losses in 25 or so games? Hardly a habit. This is the WCHA, and we were on the road. Give me the last time, if ever, a team, even championship teams, waltzed through the WCHA without five or six losses. I won't even hit the panic button if we lose again tonight. However, as noted elsewhere, the V is Guaranteed tonight.

Actually, I think it is because it gave all of the East Coast, eastern hockey, Boston College hockey fans a chance to draw some wood while sitting on their couches, figuring that maybe the revered Eagles will move up to No. 1. Big deal. I suppose that if they win the BeanPot on Monday night, I suppose that they just might. Big deal again. Big Sioux win tonight. If I were The Dean, I'd start Jake again. Of course, I'd be stunned if that happens.

Geez Scott. Much of what you say has some validity. Of course they will gut check, and bounce back, if not tonight, then in the weeks ahead. If they do not, then we all become more productive at home, work, and school. That being said, I think that conventional wisdom around the league has people believing that we don't clean golf clubs and check green fees in the off season, we sharpen our sugar beet hoes and check the turnip wagon schedule. All the more incentive to play as long into the season as we can. This team is a solid team and will be fine. The Dean and The Dave will accept nothing less. I predict a BIG win tonight, and then maybe we can all pencil the Sioux in on our dance cards again, eh? Stop the naysays.

I'm with 7>4, and others. For crying out loud, this is the WCHA, and we were playing a damned good, and well-coached, Wisconsin team that needed a win, badly. On the road no less. Some of us seem to think that this Sioux team walks on water. Well, they do not. Never did. A loss here is not the end of the world. Better now than six weeks from now. The Dean will use this as a coachable moment or two. It is good for all of us to remember that we are leading the toughest league in the country, and that every night, especially on the road, especially in Wisconsin, is a challenge. You don't think that a tough OT loss in a packed hostile house may not help build some character? You don't think that the bad taste in the mouth might be a good thing? Let them taste defeat now so they know how distasteful it is. Come March, hopefully, in a packed Excel, we face the Gophers before a hostile crowd. Come April, hopefully, in a packed Fleet Center, we face the Eagles before a hostile crowd. The lessons learned from tonight will go a long way then. If you're not on this train, then you're off it. I do not much appreciate those who jump on and off at the drop of a pin, or at the first sight of a hard fought OT loss. What'd you think, we'd go undefeated from here on in? By the way, the Eagles tied a mediocre Merrimack team on Thursday. For those of you who worry so dearly, here's my wager that we'll still be atop the polls, and the rankings, come next Wednesday. Another great night of college hockey. Let's leave it at that, eh, and avoid the temptation to kick the dog, yell at the kid, or neglect the spouse. After all, the Fighting Sioux are much, much bigger than one lousy loss in Wisconsin.

True. True. Who cares. It just frosts my nipples to know that, as a paying spectator, I must rely on my x-ray vision to assess the weights of the gladiators in the colliseum. I oughta be able to get that info out of my $3.00 program at the Ridder. At least at the Ralph, the women's programs, every bit the equal of the men's programs but for the poundage stats, are free.
