  1. SCSU did have operating TV cameras. I sat near one. They were also taking extra time, from time to time, for commercial breaks. I heard someone say that the game was on locally in St. Cloud, channel 65. Don't know if that would have been Victory Sports or not. Victory did offer its feed to all Twin Cities cable companies but I think that that offer has, to date, been refused. Money wars. Negotiating positioning. Gopher BB fans are the biggest to suffer right now.
  2. For those of you who earnestly awaited the webcast of the highly entertaining WCHA war last night, this from today's GF Herald: Geez, I wonder who it was in the SCSU administration who made this fair play? Anyway, for those of you who did not see the game, it was a fine WCHA battle. The Sioux showed huge moxy by coming back from down 3-0 early before a hostile Huskie crowd. Parise, and all of the others, got a fair taste of the road ahead in opposing arenas. No place in the league is a lay down by any stretch. Bochenski, as well as the fourth line of Palmascino, Hale, and Marvin, were solid. Smaby is still on a learning curve. Fylling and Genoway are stepping up huge. That pipe that Bochenski rang off of the face-off with seven seconds must still be ringing in all of our ears. A BIG Sioux crowd. Tonight will be a big game. Both teams are tired. The Sioux could have SCSU on the ropes. They did a great job of skating through, and around, SCSU's famed clutch'n'grab. Gotta hand it to those Huskie fans. They are loud, and they got on goalies like there is no tomorrow. I suppose the webcast is a no go again tonight? How do you spell unbelievable? Roy Saigo.
  3. I have one ticket to tonight's game available. Don't have them here, so I do not know where they are. We bought them when they first went on sale. Let me know asap if you are interested. Call me at 612.395.8657 until around 1 pm, then at 651.746.0320 after that. I suspect that it may be too late notice for most of you. If so, I will let my daughter bring a young Badger fan who is well on her way toward converting to the Fighting Sioux Way of Life.
  4. Thanks jk. I appreciate your acknowledgement of my apology. That trip to Detroit must have been great. That was a great team, with a great coach, with the title being the third in eight years. Probably the best North Dakota team ever. This year's team, or next year's, has a solid chance to match that greatness. Of that I am becoming more and more convinced.
  5. 'Twas Beersong who gave me the info on the Duluth hotels. Beersong, who you seeing in Denver? Not the Wayne State / St. Lawrence duals, eh?
  6. Geez. Only me and my alleged Polish heritage can get myself in the most of trouble at the most inopportune of times. I sincerely apologize to all of you who took offense to my off-handed remark about the SCSU President. I did not intend it as a slur of any sort. I now realize that it could have been interpreted that way. The guy, with his arrogance, just frustrates me from time to time, as do all people who live in glass houses and throw stones. The world was a better, and perhaps a safer, place back in the days when we more freely allowed ourselves the leeway to make more fun of ourselves, and of each other. I know that some of you disagree on this, so enough said. I have bled green and white for years. My family has too. I watched my daddy carry Ralph out of the Cathedral in Las Vegas fourteen months ago. I travel all over the conference with my kids. We are teed up for the Regionals, regardless of venue. I teach them to hold their heads high when other fans - SCSU fans in particular - rant and rave about the claimed disrespect that we show to the Sioux heritage. I teach them to cheer rabidly, but respectfully, with no foul mouths, no sexism, and no racism. We are all over the Cities sporting the Sioux flag. I have nothing but respect for people who are willing to be themselves, without show of pretense. Again, I am sorry. Only I could go fishing for information on hotels and have my topic get closed down by the administrators. Administrators, I am sorry. No more even close to off-color remarks about all of the protected folks, and their lifestyles. I am, perhaps, a member of the last unprotected class. Blowharts who pop their mouth off without thinking first. All I really wanted to know, and still want to know, is where the Sioux stay in Houghton, and in Duluth. One reader gave me a solid read in Duluth. Thanks. Was it you dagies? I forget. Anyway, here is rooting hard for the Sioux in St. Cloud. If anyone wants to cold cock me, look for the guy with the lil' girl in the green jersey, the young man in the black jersey, and me in my UND HOCKEY sweatshirt. An older son will be in tow Saturday. I got my own jersey coming for the road wars. Personalized. COOKOWSKI. To honor all of the Poles who have so bravely gone before me. Thanks for your courtesies and patience. Let me know if anyone has anything on the hotel scene.
  7. Thanks BeerSong. Hockey road trips are the best. Teaching my kids to cheer fervishly in sometimes hostile road environments teaches them many lessons and skills that they will never learn in the public schools.
  8. I am on the road with my kids all season long. We are tripping to Houghton on Jan 16-17, and to Duluth in February for overnights. Mariucci, St. Cloud, and Mankato are drive times. Question is, does anyone have a reasonable clue on which hotels the team is staying at in both Houghton and Duluth? My kids would love to hang tight, although they are not the type to bat eyes or scramble for sticks or autographs. We just figured that our solid, quiet Karma will bring the team solid support. This is one hell of a team by our estimation so far. Hope none of 'em are reading this. Happy New Year to all. St. Cloud and that whiney President they have, that Jap guy, here we come!!!
  9. To my knowledge, they are only on the webcast. At least in the home. Senser's sounds like a good read. We bought our tickets several months back and will be there in full regalia for the meagher Huskie fans to give us a shout. Huskie fans are an entertaining lot. Too bad that they typically have so little for which to cheer. Engelstad did announce during the Subway that they were not on local TV, but only on the web. I suspect that Fox in the Cities will either carry the Wild or the Gophers-BU series. Say, does anyone know how many players the Gophers lost to the US World Juniors Team?
  10. Big glove save by Parise!
  11. SIOUX SCORE!!! Rory McMahon!!
  12. We fly the colors whenever and wherever we can. Plates. Threads. Really sick stuff, but have to let the Gopher fans know that the world does not begin and end at Mariucci.
  13. Geez Pat, watch yourself. That bug is a nasty one. Sioux Fan, we're here in the rat hole also known as Gold Country. Twink Cities. Grew up in the el Grande Forke.
  14. We're decorating the tree. Listening to Hennessy. Only thing better is being there. We're hitting the road tomorrow for GF. Watch the football game while momma bakes me a pumpkin pie, then to The Ralph with my momma, my pappy, and my lil' girl. Ain't nothing better than the Christmas time and Sioux hockey, eh?
  15. 3-3 tie. Second period.
  16. Hi guys. Listening to the game?
  17. 7>4. Maybe I'll fly out and put the wood to Menkins.
  18. Don't tempt me big head o' hair. Now that the Gophers are 1-6-1, I figure that those fans will be jumping off the wagon in droves, and there will be all kinds of WCHA tickets for the taking right here.
  19. Save on the same guy who beat him for the gamewinner last night.
  20. Wonder how soon they will be starting to sing the regular weekend dirges over on Pride on Ice.
  21. Badgers score. Up 4-3. Six minutes left.
  22. Geez. Some goaltending. Where is this Montgomery guy from?
