  1. Well now ain't this downright true . . . HockeyTown USA This said, there still isn't anything like going on the road following the good guys in the kelly green . . . . Gotta get to Tech for the Winter Carnival sometime soon . . . . Didn't UND used to do the big snow sculpture thing years ago, or do we still . . . .
  2. It was a tough and agonizing loss. The prompt give backs after both Sioux goals were real momentum chillers. Shepard does suck as a referee. I do not say that lightly. If the league had a shade of integrity, they would put in an anti-nepotism rule. I doubt that the commissioner would get away with, or even consider, hiring his own blood into a management role within the organization. It's not a family business. How Daddy Shep got away with hiring Billy Bob Shep is really beyond me. What's really odd is how Shep let Denver players and bench work him all night long, but he wouldn't even consider lending an ear to the Sioux advocates. In any event, McMahon and Murray back. We remain unbowed in my support of the coaching staff and the players, seniors included. We plan to see them at The Ralph, at the Ex, and at the Maroosh. Can't afford the trip to Columbus, but I am sure that many of you will be there, with the team. As for the naysayers, sure, you have your right to complain, and sure, this is a board for reasoned dissection and analysis. While you are wailing your laments, do not forget any number of things, including loss of talent, new coach and staff, untimely injuries, some really lousy refereeing, and most importantly, the fact that we are playing teams, week in, and week out, that are loaded with talent and motivation, top to bottom. It's the WCHA for crying out loud. BDB, if you don't want to pay $400 to watch top shelf collegiate hockey, no problem, do not renew. You sound like the kind of man, or woman, who would probably be good at being able to mootch tickets left and right from your friends, as long as you keep your mouth shut and hide behind your moniker. Fact is, given week, any team can, and will, take any other team. Sioux are no different, on either front. They will find their legs, the pipes will become net, and the hardware will be coming home in droves. Sid.
  3. Here is saying Sioux take six from here on in. AA and St. Clown will be tough on the road, but doable. Wisconsin series will be a tough row, but they can be had. An average Gophers team proved that this weekend. Six points is assuming that Derek Shepard is not the referee in any of these series.
  4. OK, let's break it up here. Tonight is a new game and will be a different result because I am on a road trip to The Ralph with kids in tow. We've been to forty-plus games over the last two seasons and ain't seem 'em lose yet. Gotta keep a nose ahead of those dirty Dogs to make sure that we are playing them here in what will be a great, great college hockey playoff series come March 11-13. Loser of that one will probably be sharpening up their sugar beat hoes.
  5. While I suspect that it will never happen, although with the recent untimely and tragic changes in Dean's life, the departure of the worm hole formerly running The Ralph, and the continuing uncertainty of the NHL, who knows? Dean returns as AD, Hak runs a couple of NC banners up the rafters and leaves for the NHL, and Dean does double duty as AD and hockey coach starting in around, say, 2010. Gino was both AD and Coach as I recall.
  6. Break a leg there you fine Canuck. I have not forgotten that fine photo of you and your lady friend down on the glass of the World Arena a few weeks back. It will be on the wire as soon as I get straight with the wires. Have fun on the slopes. Sioux sweep. Trust me.
  7. Guess we are pretty thin these days. Thin, to win.
  8. Me thinks that the fourth line has shown, on many occasions, more hustle, grit, and heart than the other three lines combined. I'd start the fourth line, and let them set the tempo with some tenacious forechecking, some hard hits, and an early goal or two. Tough to get the supposed speed going when you have three guys with heart all over you. I also see some avenging from the Springs last spring. Sioux sweep. It'll be a carthodic weekend boys and girls. Git yer tickets to the West Regional now.
  9. Woog's main problem, one shared by many - especially those in Brown & Yellow Country - is that he gets most, if not all, of his information from the bottom of a Grain Belt bottle.
  10. RW77 . . . I did not at all mean to be insulting toward you. They were legitimate questions, and we all are a lot less smarter than we sometimes often think. I really did think that you were pulling our legs. I've always known you to be a smart and informed poster here, and figured that you were just being sarcastic after a lackluster effort resulted in a tie against a CHA school. Please accept my apology, for what it is worth. You da man. Or woman. Or kid. Or player. Or coach. Or President Kupchella.
  11. There are a lot of smarter people around here than me, but few who are better looking in a pinch. My read. BSU only gets to the NCAA if they win their conference tourney. Sioux will get in by the hair of their chinny chin chin if the go about .500 from here on in, especially against the quality teams that are on the schedule.
  12. What we are saying is that BSU is not in the WCHA. No league game. No points. You're killing us.
  13. Whatcha doin' in the hospital? Sick, like alot of other Sioux fans? It's just a momentary lapse.
  14. Not sure we were playing for any points tonight. Other than with the coaching staff and the fans.
  15. That's it then. Good solid comeback. Everyone off the ledges? In the final analysis, it is only a game.
  16. 1360 on your am dial. Or on the internet link back on page 1 of this thread.
  17. Wow. Last Beaver win against the Sioux was in 1970. This could be huge for their program. When are the trolls gonna start showing up tonight? Or you already lurking out there, in your gravy-stained brown and yellow? Yes. 3-3.
  18. 4:15 to go. Beavers starting to dump and curl.
  19. Funny. Was. That horn guy for the Sioux has to be the most underemployed type in the country these days. Off the post, per the BSU radio boys on the look back.
  20. Gophs hang on 4-3. Dogz ran out of time. Sure hope the same doesn't happen to the Sioux.
