  1. Friday Oct 20 Sioux Gopher tickets. 105 Row H, 4 in a row. This is the end the Sioux shoot at twice. $250 a ticket. Text (701) 740-3859
  2. He deserved a better outcome IMO. He came in as a walk on.....put in the work to get into the lineup.....produced pretty well in limited opportunities. However, he's not the first and won't be the last walk on that gets shafted while highly recruited busts like the Wade Murphy's of the world get chance after chance. That's life.

    2017 Season

The intent to deliver is absolutely the embarrassing part. These aren't 2 young college kids caught with a little bit of dope in the console during a traffic stop. This was a full blown raid that caused local Lewis and Clark school to be placed on lockdown for a period of time. Maybe some overkill on the police presence (which was significant), but still very embarrassing off field news for a team that has been embarrassing on field. Will be interesting if Bubba puts his foot down.

    2017 Season

Seems the drug stuff started popping up at the end of Mussman's time too. If your team is full of knuckleheads the team better at least be good. A team full of knuckleheads that isn't very good is rock bottom. Hopefully Bubba gets this runaway train back on the tracks.

    2017 Season

Shhh...don't want the thread to get shut down again.
  6. I doubt it was a joke. Just more evidence that Boesser was a cancer in the locker room this season and just like the team was better with him last year, they would have been better without him this year. More talk about the wrist injury.....that magically was just fine once he got to the NHL. He was a top flight talent that was demoted down lines because anyone that watched this year saw him lose almost every race to loose pucks and lose almost every battle in the corners. It's just too bad he didn't leave on a high note after his 1st season if his heart wasn't gonna be in it this season.
  7. Teams still aren't gonna risk a high draft picks health. Just pointing out that maybe a nagging injury wasn't to blame for this season.
  8. Safe to say that injury might not have been the issue for the below par year. NHL teams don't risk 1st round draft picks with injuries in meaningless end of year games.
  9. Brock is a great talent, and played a huge role on last year's team. That being said, it was definitely time for him to go. He clearly wasn't as motivated this year as last year so perhaps he needs a new challenge. Jost, Poolman, and Boesser will all get a chance in the NHL. Jost and Poolman will stay there.
  10. Realize that injuries dictate some of the change, but it sure has the feel of Hak getting too cute with the lines at the wrong time of year. Load up the top 2 lines, have the Gaarder O'Donnel Pog line as a rock solid 3rd line, and have a 4th line that plays rarely if at all. There are 4 games left....not 4 months...time to ride the clydesdales.
  11. Frankly I don't think UND should want anything to do with the Gophers at this point given how hot they have been. Would like to see UND get two games in to get their mojo back before facing them.
  12. Kind of tough to rate the Sioux performance this week since on the surface it looks like they had nothing to play for. However, they played their way out of a matchup with #16 seed, which is the only automatic win in the tourney. As for game planning (especially with the Murphy move) I kinda wonder if Hak didn't already make a game plan at Auggies
  13. Agreed. If you are gonna do a forward move it should have been putting Panzarella in. If either Can Johnson or Wade Murphy skates a regular shift next weekend the Sioux have no chance.
  14. Only nonsense if he's wrong.
  15. And it didn't take you 10 years to kinda get it half right :-)
  16. Your little trend (conveniently cut off at the four year mark) is only 2-single goal title games away from being 6 out of the last 7 years for Grand Forks champions. Coulda shoulda woulda.
  17. Grand Forks has grown in terms of spreading out and adding businesses, but the overall population hasn't risen much. My personal observation is that it seems the people that are added are UND students (who primarily don't have school aged kids) or people in their 40's and 50's (whose kids have cleared out). I'm too lazy to look up exact numbers but I know the GF Public School student population had declined/been pretty stagnant since the flood. However I think the last couple years has seen an uptick.
  18. Not wrong. Gonna be a knee cap is my prediction.
  19. Why? 20 years ago graduating classes averaged about 300 a year at each high school. Red River has stayed roughly the same and Central has shrunk mainly due to the base downsizing.
  20. Mac is done, but it's OK to dream I suppose. An impact injury that requires surgery signifies a break/tear of some sort. I like the idea of moving NS up to the Parks/Poolman line. Then insert Simonson into NS old spot. Time to let the blue chipper show what he can do on the top line. Olson has looked good but he isn't a center and no way LJ sits. Simonson is small but gritty and he has what it takes to center a regular line.
  21. Even with the new high schools being added in South Fargo and West Fargo, are the enrollments of the Fargo area high schools much different than the two Grand Forks High Schools? And during much of the time that the GF schools have dominated, Fargo South actually was far and away the biggest school.
  22. Hopefully Oxbow didn't eat all of that big helping of crow that DaveK tried to serve. DaveK might need some back.
  23. Few observations. 1) Dave Hakstol should be placed on notice.....he is no longer the only hockey coach in town that can't win the big one despite having the best talent. 2) The overall talent level of ND high school hockey right now is down, and pretty much has been for the last 3-4 years (the amazing Central group of Ladue, Johnson, Simonson was the last good batch). This doesn't diminish the Minot title as the talent level is down across the board. 3) When one town has had at least one of their two teams in the title game for what seams like the last 20-25 years, that still qualifies as overall dominance, but the gap has narrowed. Some is the west maybe getting a little better but a lot has to do with the Grafton's and Grand Forks teams falling back to the pack.
  24. As someone that has also worked in a position that directly deals with this area, I can say fightingsioux4life being naive. Lutheran Social Services gets funded based in part by how many of these immigrants they can bring over. Little concern is given to criminal pasts/backgrounds because in part many of the people come from places where backgrounds are next to impossible. Lutheran Social Services does help initially but then shortly dumps them off onto county social services. Heating assistance, housing assistance, etc is all in play. I have personally observed people from relatively good situations still collecting rent assistance 8-9 years after they settled. Yes it is true that not 100% of immigrants follow this pattern but it is the vast majority. I am not even going to sit here and pretend to say it is 100% right or wrong what happens, but rest assured, this is what is happening. I want to be clear, that this refers to the immigrants that LSS more often than not targets from "disadvantaged" areas. Yes everyone was once an immigrant, how hard they worked and how well they behaved is what distinguishes them.
