Just curious here, but of the guys that play center, who would you put on that top line? I do think Vandy is more of a checking line player also, but I have an issue finding someone else to play with Dunc and Hextall if you move Vandy back to the checking line. So, who takes the center spot? Zajac's more of a checking line guy, Malone isn't skilled enough to be up there, Gregoire's not a center. I guess that would leave you with Trupp or Toews to center that top line. I do hope we see some new line combos this weekend, but I don't think we'll see anything different on that top line.

Anthony Grieco (who would have been a junior this year) left the team before christmas break last year. He was the backup to lamoureux. Our only other goalie was aaron walski, who initially was a walk-on. Which is why we go with the freshman (who is drafted...lots of talent there)

Except... they don't really get much of a break over the semester break. After finals are done, they probably head home for a few days and are back by the day after christmas i would guess....there's always games over break. So I don't think the rest has anything to do with it. Honestly, I don't think there's any real reason why we play better at the end. It just happens... there doesn't always have to be an explanation for it... if it happens this year, great... if it doesn't well...

I don't think we'd be THAT bad if we could just SCORE SOME FREAKING GOALS! powerplay has been awful. i hope they shake up the lines, because I think it's pretty clear most of them aren't clicking. I may have some ideas of how to shake them up Eidsness has been good, but we can't rely on him all the time because that is just trouble. Defense is ok for the most part, yeah we miss finley, but they can hold their own... offense needs serious help. If the offense can start scoring, there might be a way to salvage this season...if not, well...

VERY Unlikely, I'd say... I wouldn't be opposed to it happening, but I'm not holding my breath on that one...

I'm going to go with 5 goals by the same person I've been saying that for the last week to amuse myself. I haven't yet decided who will get the 5 goals... haha!

To be a bit optimistic... if we win tonight, and a large amount of the teams ahead of us lose, we could be in a semi-decent position in the WCHA. (i think) it seems pretty even in the middle here. Minnesota (sadly) has been the clear top team thus far, but i think everyone else seems to be pretty evenly matched after that.

I agree. Toews brings a lot to the ice whether he scores goals or not. It's my general belief that good players have the x-factor, and he definitely does. He's just good... and that's an understatement.

Call me crazy, but I'd avoid the close to NDSU campus bars... especially the BWW near campus, you may have better luck at the South BWW's. NDSU kids generally don't go for Sioux hockey and they kinda "own" those establishments near campus. This is just my personal opinion, the only one you might have luck with in north fargo would be labby's i think. But i'm not sure.

There wasn't anything that really stuck out in my mind. I usually get the podcasts on my itunes from fightingsioux.com so when I get that I can type something up on it if no one else has anything.
