APPARENTLY (not exactly sure), it's only a penalty if the goalie does it and it's deemed intentional. Any other player can do it no matter what, and so can the goalie if its unintentional. Again, this is all just what I've heard, nothing concrete so please don't rip me, just trying to help.

The only real flip flopping of players that has been done seems to be this past weekend for WJT. Schack got some playing time that he usually doesn't see, but like the other poster said it wouldn't surprise me to see him out on a little smaller sheet of ice against a more physical team. There's usually a change between lines it seems like, but players stay pretty similar. I can almost guarantee that the first line will be Stoa/Schroeder/Barriball, but from there its a crap shoot. 2nd line is usually some combination of Hoeffel/Lucia/Flynn/White/Carman, but who knows. Guessing the first D line will be Fischer and Ness again, 2nd one Anderson and Fairchild, 3rd one Wehrs and Loftquist. Also I think the small ice fits the Gophers style well, especially guys like Ness, Fairchild, Schroeder, etc....guys that can really pass the puck quick and accurately. Going to be a great series. (Oh, and Kangas will give up 2 each night, mark it down)

Nope, it doesn't say anything about the PP slowing down. It speaks to having 3 first line PP guys gone.

Stats such as previous win/loss or whatever may mean nothing, but PP and PK stats like that show what the strengths of a team may be. By seeing that UMN is successful on special teams is more than just the numbers, and it is truly a key to the game. Where they are rated may not be important, but the fact that we are one of the best PK/PP teams in the nation does.

I wouldn't be too worried about giving us breakaways, we can't seem to score on them. All our goals seem to be a cross to a guy about 5 feet away who pounds it in the net, a screened shot through traffic, or a rebound goal.
