How 'bout: Watch out! Sioux are on the Psycho Path Overlayed on a picture of Jones ripping his helmet off and photoshop a knife held pirate-style in his teeth and a bazooka slung around his neck and a wearing a pair of brass knuckles.

Quick poll: Who do you punch first? A. The kid that you beat at (insert any sport here) and then says "yeah - but I bet I can kick yer azz at tetherball, pogs and watermelon seed spitting." B. The kid that beat you at (insert any sport here) and that is the ONLY thing he is good at and therefor thinks it is the only thing that matters and won't shut up aboot (<------ oops) it. just curious

I'd be OK with that. It is suprising how much better all the combos look (on paper) once you add Trupp back in the mix. If he doesn't play, get ready to see Miller back on the first line for at least half the game.

Ahhhhh -the old "you are talking about me so must be scared of me" card. I always love that one. If we were nervous, there would be a reason. You see, when you win alot of games, you kinda feel like you have something to lose. When you make the tourney with a shtty record - what have you go to lose? "Why make fun of the Goofs if they are a lower seed?" - ( I think this is your implied question). It's not b/c we enjoy it - it's b/c thats our nature. Dogs don't kill cats b/c they hate them (or b/c they are afraid of them) - they do it b/c THAT'S WHAT DOGS DO! Get it? Seriously - this shouldn't have to be explained. It would be quite self indulgent to think that if the Sioux were nervous it had something to do with ground dwelling rats.

A caller also asked about Forney (same one that asked about Trupp and Oshie). Hak said Forney was available to play - and that was IT. He moved on to the injuries topic which was, from what I heard, non-committal. No suprises really - gotta expect him to play it close to the vest at this point. I didn't hear the 75/25 or 50/50 comment - but I probably missed it.

Actually, I can think of ONE reason. More fans at the game=more revenue for WCHA= more money to buy bananas used in training monkeys to be WCHA referees.

Yeah I am afraid "Fighting Sioux" is actually on UND's list of trademarks. Too bad cuz I liked it better that way too. I'll put Sioux back at the top and stretch it out.

You are all correct. Should not have overlooked that stuff. I re-read the guidelines and edited the image. Guidelines are specific about using active players names and Fighting Sioux is trademarked. I deleted the original one and this version is now available (sorry Goon! - but gotta keep it on the up-and-up!) This one conforms -

I agree it would be cool for many people to be wearing shirts with the same design - but since it is proving VERY difficult to settle on one design - I though I'd offer this. You can order as many as you like. I just ordered one on feb 5 and received it on feb 11th (without any expedited shipping), so there should be plenty of time left. order them here http://www.cafepress.com/thiniceshirts Here is an example. On the actual shirts, there is no white in places where it shouldn't be (as you can see inside the "o" in the word "who". I am in a hurry otherwise I'd fix it. Big game tonight against a tough Denver team. They have struggled a little bit as of late, so expect them to come out hungry. We need 60 good minutes. Need to play Sioux hockey. There are no easy games in the WCHA. We'll need our leaders to step up. Goal tending will be key.

That's right. The time to prove you can fight for the sake of making your own stock rise has passed. That said - maybe some of the players that have been in and out of the roster wouldn't hurt the team too badly by taking care of any dirty work that needed to be done Joe's mental maturity is catching up to his body maturity - and it shows. I am not sure if he drops 'em his stock will rise like Commodores' did. Commodore got paid for being good and mean. Joe will get paid for being good and big. Just one guys' opinion tho.

I hope for the first two periods of Fridays' game that the Sioux just STAPLE the Pios to the boards. I don't even care if they score a goal or touch the puck (OK - I care, but for the sake of adding drama, pretend you don't know that). I am not talking about being a bunch of goons, I mean clean, hard, nasty hits from everyone. If you have a chance to finish a check and you barely tap the guy - you sit. Tell Malone (and others) the only reason he has for watching the puck is to see who it is that he is about to lay out. Set the tempo. Let them know we plan on winning battles for the puck by smearing them into the glass and skating away from them with it as they drop to ice. HIT 'em STICK 'em F'n KRIST POP 'em. OK sorry I went a little Hanson Brother there. I just think we won't be in these games if we are not the more physical team. I know some will say that we are unbeaten in 9 so don't change a thing - but I think we need to amp up the hitting or lose.

That is funny! What's not funny are those jerseys and how jerseys in this country start looking more and more Euro every year. Yikes. I think I'd rather see the Bird Flu hit our soil than those Jerseys.

I was so disgusted by the site of Hak 'flying the bird' I turned the channel - which was good b/c there was a great episode of CSI on that I hadn't seen before. It's the one where that porn star gets choked to death during sex by the guy who was smoking crack - classic! One of my favorite episodes, and the best part - they don't allow swearing on primetime network television so I wasn't subjected to anything offensive.

Seems to me a disturbing trend appeared the last two or three series'. Opponents seem to be gaining our zone with enough speed and players to make a play on our net - while the Sioux seem to be having more trouble doing the same. What has changed? Seems like this is usually a key to our game but lately it seems like opponents are doing it better than we are. Am I imagining this? -or have others noticed? I'll take wins any way we can get them - but our offense isn't exactly firing on all cylinders - so I thought I'd ask.
