UND really needs Cornell to lose to Union on Friday.

and if UND wouldn't have pissed away saturday's game they would be ahead of michigan right now. the old saying is you don't win championships in october or november. but the other side of that is you sure can lose them. if UND fails to make the tourney this season, their putrid start will be to blame.

if you are referring to the UND-Bentley comparison. UND still wins it. it is tie as UND has a higher RPI but Bentley wins the common opp category. UND actually wins the comparison because the higher RPI.

I'm guessing this line will put out there against Miami's top line as much as possible being UND will have last change. Miami hasn't seen this line yet either as Hak moved Pattyn of this line right about the time they played last month.

the Big 10 this season was extremely top heavy and will be for the forseeable future with minn,wisc and mich. minn was head and shoulders better than anyone in that league and would have walked away with the NCHC title as well if they would have been in that conference. Wis and Mich are equal with most everyone in the NCHC except CC. who cares what some computer says about Minny's strength of schedule. bottom line is they won the games they were supposed to have and won a lot of them and didn't piss games away like our favorite squad did.

I will defend Mariucci to this extent, CC is not a good team no matter what happened this past weekend. good teams don't end their season with just what 7 wins or whatever it was. UND was lucky to get out of that series and to extend their season for at least one more weekend. If UND comes out and plays against Miami the way they did against CC they will get beat. Miami also did something UND couldn't do, they beat SCSU more than once this season and swept them on their home ice and didn't get swept at home by them(which also isn't helping the current situation).

probably sitting in 11th and having only to win one game this weekend instead of maybe having to win two.

as bad as Miami is in their own zone, this game will come down to whether UND can capitalize and put the puck in the back of the net. Miami can turn it over all they want but ifUND keeps shooting high, wide and an into the middle of the goalies chest it won't matter if they put 60 shots on goal.

I'd even add the sat night debacle against omaha at the ralph.

with wisconsin and scsu lokking to be 2 and 3 seeds(most likely) I don't hink they put extra effort into getting UND there. IF UND makes the tourney look fo them to travel east somewhere.

exactly, the hockey east games started at 4:30 local time yesterday. the problem with the 7 Sunday start isn't just for those out of town but it gets late for those that bring young kids. and god forbid it went to overtime(s).

on the other hand I've been to regionals in grand rapids, new hampshire and mass and there has been minimal fan support there. unlike regionals in the cities, wisc or colorado where there are tons of fans with a short drive. here's a valid question, how many on here living in the midwest would next sunday book a flight to cincy or the east coast to watch UND play in a regional?

I will say zero as minny will be the number one overall seed and will play the atlantic hockey champion whoever that is in the first round. there would be a better chance of UND playing BC in the first round.

I guess with where things sit this season it will be a little different going into this weekend as we won't be complaining about where we might ot might not be sent or anyone else for that matter as we just hope to make thing.
