any split out in the Springs is a good thing. In January of 1997 we had a freshman goalie in the nets and won the first game out there 3-0 and then got blasted in the second game 8-3, and that season turned out pretty well. I thought we moved the puck well all weekend. If and that's a big if we can get healthy fairly quick we might be in postion to be 4-6 games over .500 at x-mas. Putting 7 goals on arguably one of the best netminders inthe country should give us some confidence moving forward. BE is getting better each time I see him, keep in mind we scored two of CC's goals on Sat(one off our skate and the second was VV's fluke).

I don't know if I would start to go down the splitsville road like last year just yet. I think if they would have had a healthy d corps last nights result might have been different. people can point to the hextall major all they want but in the second period we had like 4+ consecutive minutes of pp, 3 minutes of which was 5 on 3 and we could only score once. that being said I really like what I saw this weekend and hopefully we'll have six d men healthy enough to play this weekend.

I can be one of the most negative peopleon this board at times, but I am pleased with what happemned this weekend considering all factors. I like the direction this team is going and a sweep will happen soon, very soon. if we get our d healthy and hopefully Joe will be back it may happen this weekend.

if genoway,jones and finley can't go tonight who plays on the blue line or do we just rotate 4 D? if all three can't go it wouldn't bode well for a favorable outcome tonight. is Fienhage hurt? why would you bring Finley if you don't want to play him over Fienhage?

he may have made the trip, but I'd be surprised if we saw him in any other role than as an emergency fill in on sat.

Bachman out for the weekend along with CC's top line?

with our pp struggling and cc's pk on fire along witht he fact we've had other issues scoring and bachman not allowing much over 1 goal a game-CC 4-1,5-2.

BE should be in net both nights as I don't blame him for the loss on saturday as he wasn't given much help. that being said Hak said this numerous times over the past few years a teams best penalty killer is it's goaltender and BE still needs to develop into that. I'm much more concerned about the defensive lapses we had on Sat and Friday for that matter. Any chance that when Finley comes back to move Genoway to forward where he would be a much betetr help to this team instead of being a pylon that skaters just go around.

however the sign of a good team is to pull out a win when even when the other team looks more impressive then you. cc did that.

I don't have a good feeling about this weekend. CC is the No. 1 team in the country for good reason and some of our early struggles wil play into their hands. we'll need to score at least 3 goals to beat them and bachman isn't giving up 3 goals in a weekend. if DU struggled to score against them I can only imagine our problems. our pp woes could very well continue as cc has killed off something like 64 of 66 penalties so far. we will be lucky to get a point this weekend as you add our offensive woes and the fact we traditionally don't play well out there and this could be a very ugly weekend.

will this be something where they call a lot of penalties early in the season and then go back to their old ways? I remeber a couple of years ago there were some new rule changes implemented and it only lasted about a month. so we'll have to wait and see.

I'm cautiously optimistic about this series against the badgers. I would loved to say sweep but I think a spilt is more likely. it's just been our nature in the first half of previous seasons. I like the momentum coming out of mankato but we've struggled at home against the badgers recently and during hak's regime there have been numerous occasions in which we've come out flat and not matched the opponents intensity. hopefully that isn't the case this weekend as you know bucky will come out flying.

I've watched DU play 3 times this year and they look really,really good. They are the best team to date so far I've seen. Good thing we don't play them until January as it gives us some time to get our defense and goaltending straightened out because they can bring it offensively.

we're 3 for 3 on our last three pp's. let's hope that trend continues next weekend and we'll be very successful.
