  1. Friday, it was rocking the most that I recall it ever rocking. Saturday was better then a lot of nights but the crowd was not as excited as they were Friday night though they did pick it up later in the game...

Falling behind 2-0 might do that sometimes... :silly:

I thought it was a great atmosphere, other than the typical pricks doing the M-I-N-N- stuff after every gopher goal.

  2. is there a way to post a picture of the "yale mat" without uploading it to a website? I don't have one. :D

If you send it to the Forum Administrator, he will probably host it for you temporarily...

  3. Good question... I can't say. I suppose its like any other business, you have to kiss the right asses at the right time. I'll ask my source next time I run into him.

You're right, though, about the same act in the same location. I've seen Aerosmith in Fargo and Grand Forks already. That was enough for me. I would've like to have seen Kiss since I missed their Fargo show, but oh well. I'm not losing any sleep over it...

(I would have lost sleep missing the gopher game) :D

  4. It is obvious to me that either jk did not go to college or has not been their for a long while. Kids drink when they're in high school now days.

I think you failed to recognize the sarcasm in his statement.

For myself, I don't remember anything from age 19-21. :D

  5. With Bowenkamp's experience on the road and playing against a team this week in which he absolutely torched last year, he is the man under center.

While I hate to sound "down" on John B, 164 passing yards and a 12-6 win isn't exactly a "torching", in my opinion.

Albeit, I'll be cheering for whoever's in... GO SIOUX! BEAT THE BUCKING FISON!

  6. It really is Scylla and Charybdis.

    Clever! ;)

It seems that the only thing GF residents wanted was to have their neighborhood pools replaced. But now the city and their "destination city" deciples found a way to better suit their own needs and wants. (and those of Cannad Inn)

Again, the city of GF is tailoring to their own needs and wishes, not those of its residents. I guess the voters will ultimately decide the fate or fruition of the water park.

  7. I have recently moved out of Grand Forks, and to the rural Thompson, ND area, in part because of my skyrocketing property taxes. My new home will be twice the size, on an 11 acre lot, and still be just over half of what I was paying for taxes in my old home. The dike second assessment on my property west of I-29 was the straw that broke this camel's back. People are sick and tired of being taxed in Grand Forks. It seems all people want to do anymore is tax and spend, when our damn dikes aren't even paid for yet of all things. I was fed up enough to leave, and judging by the sale of 5 other lots near me to GF residents, I'm not the only one.
