  1. airmail,

you must work at the alerus.  you want facts?  i posted them earlier about the alerus employees.  thanks for the kind words, fellow sioux. :D

No, I don't work there, or really care about the workings of the facility. But when I know something is posted that is not true, I will always take opportunities to correct any false statements. And about favors... well, we won't get into it.

    Anyway... Go Sioux!

  2. Believe me, the Alerus is in absolutely NO position to be putting UND in a bad spot.  If they ever tried doing anything, we'd say screw you and go back to memorial stadium.  They do NO bending over backwards for us EVER.  UND had to practice outdoors all week before the Pitt game because the Alerus needed a WEEK to set up for a concert.  Complete BS!!  I saw them set up the backstreet boys concert in less than 24 hours.(I was working, not attending)  The Alerus' staff, from top management to event security, are a bunch of jackasses.(I know i used to work there)  The concession and parking people are nice however.  Could you imagine the numbers for themselves if they didnt have football games in there?  They really don't have a leg to stand on.

I wasn't going to, but I just can't help it. Vince... in the future, please know what the hell you're talking about before you post ignorant non-facts.

Yes... the Alerus needed a week to set up the MSR concert. If you had been there, you would have noticed that the set is not comparable to any other, as a "whole city" theme was built. Knowing the time this would take, the Alerus staff was in contact with the UND athletic dept, asking if the show should be booked.

UND SAID TO BOOK THE SHOW, KNOWING FULL WELL THE IMPLICATIONS IT MAY HAVE HAD ON A POSSIBLE PLAYOFF PRACTICE SCHEDULE!

I had a whole lot more here, which I removed, because it doesn't shine a "bright light" on UND athletics. But let me reiterate, Vince, if you don't know the facts... don't comment on them.

  3. Somebody explain this to me. Are you looking for mascots that are SINGULAR, not PLURAL, ones that do not end in "s", or both? There are alot of mascots listed by people here that are PLURAL, but DO NOT END in "s". "Bison", can that not be plural OR singular? "OrangmEn" is plural, "OrangemAn" is singular. Same with the "MidshipmEN", that is also plural. "Fighting Irish", that is in reference to a group of people, so I am not sure about that one. But just because something does not end in "s", it doesn't actually mean that it is a singular noun.

    :)

  4. I mean, yeah, sex crimes are awful and sex offenders aren't good people, but since when are we like African nations who mutilate their own citizens?

I wonder how many cases of aggrevated sexual assault they have in such places... I would venture a guess of "less."

  5. A person has to wonder how many times this stuff has to happen before people start to realize that these scumbags cannot be "rehabilitated".

Exactly right, CRR. How many times does this have to happen before they admit castration is the only cure for these sick f*ckers?

Too many more, I imagine. :)

  6. You guys beat Pittsburgh and Winona. WINONA!!!! LOL LOL LOL!!

as well as all of our NCC competition... (yes that includes our bison bitches)

I'd love to see the clinic UNA would put on in the flood-dome... why the hell are you here anyway? Wait... don't answer... just go back to bisonville and blow sunshine up each other's asses about D-IAA.

  7. LB Courtney Wright 6'0" 205

    LB Harold Wisdom 5'11" 220

    LB Donald Tharpe 5'10" 205

This is kind of what I was getting at in my earlier post. If these 3 guys are playing off the line, I think we have a decent chance of moving the ball. (especially since our line averages 6'-5", 295, give or take a few pounds, and they're all strong... not a bunch of fat-asses)

If UND can establish the running game early, possibly forcing a shift in UNA's defensive scheme, it will be a great field position battle and ultimately a great game. I can't wait!

  8. It was posted that the Lions defense is small, but fast, and likes to hit. Is this the case with the defensive line, as well as the LBs and secondary?

My point being, that our O-Line is pretty powerful, and our running game has been getting some good yards lately in A. Roland... maybe this game won't be as lopsided as some might think? :)

  9. This morning, driving to Crookston, MN, I saw people in groups of 3-4 on each side of the road, walking the ditches with flashlights. I can't describe the pit I felt in my throat and stomach. What a terrible sight.

However, what a turnout for searchers. They should all feel proud of their efforts.

    God willing, they'll find her.

  10. I agree that a lot of atmosphere was lost when the lower bowl was sold as season tickets...I was out there everyweekend last year at 4 or in some cases 10am for the gopher series.  I guess my only point is that the students are treated like we dont matter, we get notes telling us to essentially sit down and shut up, we are told we can only go to the one door, they decide where we will sit, when we will stand, and there is nothing we can do about any of it because if we say anything we get  the always present threat of having our seats taken away.

    This is good discussion.

*however I am now done "whining" cause isnt that what we call it when anyone under 25 expresses an opinion or point of view.

    This is whining.

  11. Hey everyone, look on the bright side. The drummers aren't playing that same old "drum quintet" thing that rang in my ears during the last years of the old REA. Now THAT was something to complain about. They played it so much that rythymly-challenged people like myself could play it in their sleep.

As far as the band sucking... I wouldn't go that far. Their not some performing orchestra for pete sake, they're a pep band. That's what they sound like... loud, fun, PEPPY!

(the old K-Lite pep band back in '87 was a little loud in the brass too, but they were still fun!)

  12. after a Sioux goal a song should be played like the same one everytime.

I agree... it seems almost everyone has a "goal" song except us. Blur's "woo hoo" is always fun, although I think its SCCC's goal song...

  13. While I have been one who complained about visibility in the past, I have to say I've had absolutely no reason to complain about not seeing the game this season. The students to my left (108) have taken the issue seriously, and have extended every courtesy to us in Section 107.

My wife was given one of the little sheets of paper (yes, she still looks like a college student :silly: ) and I got a chance to read it. bull$%!#, I say.

Thank you, students, for your cooperation thus far. It is very much appreciated by all of us in Row E. ???
