The Vikings haven't even tried to draft a QB in years. The Spielman/Zimmer regime completely ignored the position. I think they should do what they can to get that #1 pick from Chicago and get their QB for the next 10 years.

You mean to tell me Kellen Mond, Teddy "2 gloves" Bridgewater, Christian Ponder, Nate Stanley, Joe Webb and Jaren Hall (Vikings draft since 2010) weren't the answer?

Really? Another delusional Packer fan who is drinking the puke green and p8*$% yellow kool-aid. In week 14 against the powerhouse Giants, Love was 25/39 for 218 years and 1 TD and I INT in a loss. The next week, the FudgePackers got boatraced by Tampa Bay at home. If the Packers are fortunate enough to get by the 49ers (which is very unlikely), they get the chance to get steamrolled by the Lions again. They won't catch the Lions sleeping again like Thanksgiving. It will be similar to the last 2 times in Green Bay. The FudgePackers are not even the best team in the North.

Vikings fans are just as delusional as Cowboy fans.

The vikings are a complete dumpster fire of an organization who cannot draft QB worth a damn.

Statistics for the year according to NFL.com:

    Jared Goff      4575 yards 67.3 completion % 30 TDs 12 INTs 97.9 passer rating

    Jordan Love   4159 yards 64.2 completion % 32 TDs 11 INTs 96.1 passer rating

Goff also beat the Buccaneers, Broncos, Raiders, Falcons--all teams that Love lost to. Goff did split with the Bears and the Packers swept the Bears, but otherwise, Goff had a better year. I don't know about the random last 9 games that you cherry picked, but Goff is better than Love in almost every statistical category. This is the same Goff that some Bison rubes on this board thought was worse than Wentz (those are the most delusional fans, although Packers fans and Bison fans seem to overlap). I hope and pray that the Lions get to play the Packers again.

The stats between the two are pretty much the exact same. I wouldn't exactly say that Goff is lights out better than Love. You also need to remember that Love is in his FIRST full year while Goff is 8 years into his NFL career.
You forgot to mention that Goff lost to the same team Green Bay and Love just lite up.

Those 2 have no more eligibility left.

This makes me wonder why keep a player who had 4 years to prove himself just to take a spot from a younger player that do that players role.

The 4 year transfer player is probably doing all the right things in practice and the rookie player probably isn’t grasping the NCAA game as fast as the coaches want him to.

You’re going to tell me that you’d take Emerson over Johannes right now?

what you don't get is.....if your annual final five trip included a trip to lynn lake liquors, liquor lyles, mall of america, pindea tacos, or somewhere else "aint what it used to be" and you don't go to the final five bc you aint going to those places too......you might just not go.....hence lower attendance.

What you must not understand is that Lynn Lake Liquors is no longer, Mall of America isn't in MPLS, and you can go to another pindea tacos location if you are so scared. The attendance for the league tournament hasn't gone down like you think. Your notion of the MPLS area being "big, bad and scary" is just not true.

I mean, statistically absolutely worse. It's also a lot dirtier and smells a lot more like weed than it used to haha.

All of that said, it's wholly safe in DT MPLS and all of the crap is located to a very small area of the city.

It does smell a lot like bad decisions and regrets but overall not terrible.

Minneapolis is too dangerous now.... Cost benefit analysis.... Eat choice... Wanna see attendance go down.... Wait for a fan to get murdered

There are over 100+ games a year hosted in MPLS and it seems like no one has been murdered going to one of them. Most of the crime has been set around 5 neighborhoods that are not really that close to downtown either. So take off your tin hat and come on down to Lyons Pub and we can chat more about this.

So what happens if the finals end up staying in a place like Miami or for example, Western Michigan where those stadiums can’t see more than 4000 people we are going to lose quite a bit of money because of this decision

saying the conference is going to lose "quite a bit of money" is a big stretch. For what it costs to rent out the Xcel and for the amount of people that show up to the tournament, I imagine the conference loses more doing that then it would having the championship in Oxford.

Is it true Texas A & M is offering $76M for a new head coach…. Not sure how many year commitment. That is insane.

They have major booster money, not overly surprising.

Michigan would not leave the B1G.

    Too. Much. Money.

I don’t think it would happen and I’m sure it’s being discussed out of anger and trying to persuade the B10 commish to rethink what he is doing. However, I also don’t think they care because it’s Michigan and any other power 5 conference would welcome them in a heartbeat.

  11. I was reading an article (Michigan football leave the Big Ten Jim Harbaugh suspension? (usatoday.com)) about Michigan leaving the Big Ten due to the commissioner's handling of Jim Harbaugh suspension. Obviously, I don't care about Michigan football and if they leave the Big Ten but the main question would be is, what happens to the hockey conference if it were to happen? I don't think they would get an autobid any longer, as you have to have more than 6 teams in a conference to get one. Would they bring in an affiliate school or would we see the remaining teams disband into other conferences?

First thought was man, I miss Pinto…we were lucky to have him for a couple years and great to see him still repping  UND…get that guy the contract he deserves!

Followed quickly by…don’t let siouxkid see this or he’ll be calling Shane up to make sure to correct him that it’s not a rivalry. (Tongue in cheek my man, but maybe try to limit the telling everyone else whether they should consider it a rivalry or not). We all miss what it once was, but most still consider it a big one.

Isn’t that what you’re trying to tell me? Maybe limit yourself in telling people what they consider a rivalry or not.

I know that they have never worn them in the past, but what about a silver helmet for the hockey team similar to what the football team wore this past weekend against NDSU?  Stripe and interlocking ND logo and everything.  Would look great with the business suits!!

Go visit dinkey town during a sioux gophers game and tell me if the rivalry has cooled.

Was there last year and was there 16 years ago and the atmosphere was completely different between the times I was there.

Ever see the empty houses at Mariucci for years even against Big Ten opponents, and then magically sellouts when they played UND.   I imagine the casual hockey fan doesn’t care, but the ones that speak with their dollars still consider each other a huge rival.

It magically sells out because majority that go are UND fans.

    Okay….

I @#$%ing hate Duluth. They're at the top in my list, followed by Minnesota then Denver. To me, the Denver rivalry hasn't been the same since Gwoz left. We may not be in the same conference as Minnesota but I want UND to beat the crap out of them none the less because it's always good to see their fans have a meltdown.

You can see when the teams play against each other, most UND and Minnesota players take the rivalry seriously even if fans don't. Except the Thanskgiving massacre game, Minnesota checked out in that one. :D

I also can’t stand Duluth and despise their fan base.

Of course I want to beat Minnesota but I wanna beat them like any other non conference team.

I can definitely name more players on the gopher roster than on any other nchc team. They have some pretty good players. I also didn't realize being able to name every player is a requirement to be a rivalry. Just because you don't care as much doesn't mean you need to ruin everyone else's fun.

I never said it was a requirement.

if me saying it’s not a rivalry is “ruining your fun”, I’d probably stay home where it’s safe from others.

That's what some people said about UND and NDSU because we didn't play each other for a long time. Saturday's insane atmosphere in the Alerus Center says otherwise.

Also, Iowa and Iowa State are in different conferences and that rivalry is still alive and kicking.

UND and NDSU are in the same conference and are only 80 miles apart from each other. Iowa and Iowa state are 120 miles apart and are both in the same state. not even comparable situation

  20. 4 minutes ago, nodakgirl93 said:

Maybe to you. But to most people on both sides it's still very much a rivalry.

A lot of people down here in MPLS could care less.
Also, could you name every player on their current roster without looking it up (I'm guessing not)? Back when we played them every year, you could name every player and their mother on that roster. Again, the rivalry died when we stopped playing every year (Lucia even said it when they left for the B10) and the only people that are still pretending like its the same are the ones who keep B#*(*ing about the Fighting Hawks nickname.

The Rivalry is not the same.  My excitement is the fact we have the #1 team coming to the Ralph this weekend.  A great opportunity for the team to hopefully get a couple wins that will help at the end of the year with the Pairwise rankings.   I would consider most of our NCHC opponents bigger rivals.  But that is just me.

I am in the same boat as you my friend!
