  1. That's exactly what I saw too. I was wondering what game some other posters here were watching. Yale looked like a MUCH quicker team.
  2. LOL...yea, that Brock Nelson guy would have worked out quite nicely too.
  3. That's like lining up Tim Duncan vs Kobe Bryant and saying 'our best player is better than your best player.' Instead, I would go line by line and look at it head-to-head that way. No question that that Agostino would have filled in quite nicely on a line with Danny Kristo and solved a lot of UND's problems this season.
  4. Exactly. Hard for a Forbert, Bjugstad, or Haula to focus on a game when there's an NHL contract sitting in the locker room just waiting for a signature the moment the team is eliminated.
  5. Like I always say, hard work beats skill when skill doesn't work hard. OK, maybe I heard that somewhere else...
  6. A loud crowd is impressive at Yost...Munn...Mariucci...WIsconsin...BU...BC...Maine...and other places too. Yes, UND's crowd is impressive, but it's not the only loud building around. The two most impressive crowds I can remember, Sioux or not? 1998 and Michigan's fans at Yost and the 2012 WCHA semi-final against Minnesota at the X. Nothing better than seeing a sea of green in St Paul. Fire Bob Motzko!
  7. Really? Because from everything I've seen, Kenny Agostino would be nothing short of a first-liner if he was wearing a Sioux uniform. I just have to shake my head sometimes...some fans look at other teams like Yale and St Cloud State and just figure that their best players would be fifth liners at UND...I don't get it.
  8. I would suspect, at the very least, that most every poster on this board assumed that North Dakota matched and over-matched Yale in every position possible prior to the game a week or so ago too. You never know until you hit the ice!
  9. I've yet to meet a fan who had a direct impact on an NCAA tournament or championship game. I think the fan aspect is a bit over-rated. Ask one of the Yale kids what his goal is and the reply is likely to be 'to win an NCAA title.' Ask a Minnesota or North Dakota kid what his goal is and the likely answer is 'to make the NHL.' That's my two cents.
  10. So a team that got man-handled at home by SCSU in January would have given Quinnipiac a better game? The same Quinnipiac team that's outscored Yale 13-3 in three meetings this season? Hmnnn....maybe, I guess...
  11. You completely missed my sarcastic post. I've followed college hockey for over 25 years...my comments were meant in complete jest. As for the two games you referenced, the Yale/BC game and the BU/Miami game...yea, I know...I watched 'em both. And I agree with everything you wrote in your second paragraph. I guess you have missed most of my comments on this subject on this thread. We're on the same team.
  12. If you haven't heard of sarcasm, you must not follow siouxsports.com much. BC led Yale 2-1 after 1 period and held a 6-2 lead in the 2nd before two late goals got Yale within 2 again at 6-4. BC promptly scored 3 straight in the 3rd to open up a 9-4 lead. Yale scored 3 straight goals of their own starting at about 13:00 into the 3rd period and ending with about 1:30 left in the game to make the final 9-7. I don't think BC was really 'battled' the way you felt they were.
  13. Whatever. We're North Dakota. We have the best fans and the grandest arena ever. I've never even heard of schools like Union, Yale, or Quinnipiac until two weeks ago. We're SUPPOSED to win a title every other year, at least. Anything less is a total failure. I'd rather go thru 19 years of watching a totally sucky team followed by 1 championship season than have a shot at being a national champion and risk disappointment for 10 years straight. Who's with me?
  14. At one point in the 3rd period in 5 on 5 play, QU controlled the puck and the zone for about 50 seconds. It was like watching North Dakota take on the Bismarck Demon Squirt C team on that shift. Hockey is evolving...teams should take note. Had UND been in that game against Quinnipiac, I think the score would have been exactly the same. Go Yale!
  15. If you choose A, get set for years of sagging attendance, lackluster community and fan support, loss of corporate sponsorship money, etc. It'd be like old REA circa 1990-1995.
  16. Posted about 22 hours ago... http://bangordailyne...d-in-maine-job/ “At this point, I’d be interested in every job. I want to continue coaching and I would be foolish to close a door on anything," said the 59-year-old Gwozdecky, who posted a 443-267-64 record at Denver and has won at least 20 games in each of the last 12 seasons Hello...Alaska-Anchorage...give the Gwoz a call!
  17. I thought Nick was playing for Florida?
  18. I think lots of people were. I've been touting UMass-Lowell for several weeks now and am amazed at how Yale absolutely took it to the River Hawks yesterday. That was a 3-2 OT final...but the Bulldogs absolutely dominated that game. Having watched Yale three times now and knowing that Quinnipiac smoked them three times this year already, I had a feeling some eyes would be opened when the Bobcats took the ice last night. I liked the Yale captain's comment after the game about being 'honored' to represent his school in the NCAA title game. Some UND fans can continue to be bitter, but I'll be pulling for Yale on Saturday night. I don't know why...but they remind me of the 1997 Sioux...the team that nobody expected to be in the championship game.
  19. Great post. What was it again? Sorry, I seem to get distracted everytime I see 'Cratter' pop up on the screen.
  20. I think at Wal-Mart in Fergus Falls...
  21. If Yale runs the table on Saturday night, can we stop blaming Hakstol for losing to them?
  22. You mean that wasn't the WOMEN'S team playing?
  23. Remember when UND fans wanted to be in Quinnipiac's region?
