The Miami Heat opened their season with a loss to a team tanking it to try to win next summer's draft lottery (76ers). The Islanders defeated the mighty Blackhawks a day ago. Baylor was expected to smoke Central Florida in the Fiesta Bowl...but the Knights put up 50+ on the Big 12 champions. The series at Western Michigan and the next two series will tell you a lot more about this Sioux team than an exhibition game played in scenic British Columbia will.

This game meant as much to UND hockey this season as the Valpo game meant to UND football. And UMD fans were calling for Sandelin's head at least two years prior to his NCAA title run season. Had UMD not made that Frozen Four, I don't doubt for a second that he'd have been canned by now.

Fixed your post. Last time Minnesota lost the Mariucci Classic opener, they played the championship game the next afternoon followed by the third place game at 7:00pm. I would bet the same thing happens tomorrow.
