I told him, “great win, we’ll see what happens next weekend.” “What’s next weekend?” ”Uhhh…the national tournament?” ”Huh? I thought this was it.” ”Nope. Good luck!” Saw him at the rink a week later after the Chris Porter goal sent UND to the Frozen Four. He wasn’t exactly as friendly.

RIT would be a much better NCAA tournament candidate for an upset W over a higher seed.

I’m unaware of any other college sports team that wasted more time on message board geeks than that one.

There won’t be an apology, we all know that. I’d love to see Jake start off tonight’s broadcast with, “Welp, UND gets a chance to extend its season tonight and hopefully keep Coach Berry from finishing with less than 20 wins for the 3rd time in 8 years at the ship’s helm…”

And of course he blurts out “culture” again too

Yea, nice try. The 1998-1999 team was 33-5-2 headed into the NCAA’s before that disappointing loss to Boston College. The coaching staff didn’t start off the 1999-2000 season thinking there were a ton of “problems” that needed their immediate attention. Unlike our coaching staff, say, next fall, and what they will be dealing with…

And had that team gone 0-1 in the NCAA’s after bowing out as a #1 or #2 overall seed…how hot would Berry’s seat be right about now?

I still cannot believe the comments last weekend. Absolutely absurd to make that statement. This team has folded up more times in crucial games than a Japanese origami piece and he blurts out that they’re gonna go on an unprecedented run and take home the NCAA title? No pressure, boys!

The last chapter of the book is going to be AMAZING, isn’t it?
