Encouraging the drunks in green to simply leave the arena rather than jaw-jack with the Pioneer moron was the least I could do. 2 of those 3 guys were likely headed towards an assault charge without some intervention.

Listen Brianna, I know you’re still a little salty about the NODAK jersey issue, but I think we can all move on from that now, right? I guess we’re now back to bashing people for not being true fans if they have anything negative to say. I went to Friday’s game and cheered the team on, then had to pry 3 drunk Sioux fans off of a DU fan who decided that after OT was a good time to taunt everyone in green in our section. But hey, by all means, go on being the superhero with the cape as the positivity police here on the message board.

Oh, so we’re going to * two Covid seasons as a negative…how about an * next to the home-cooked Frozen Faceoff championship too then?
-
3 seasons out of 8 with wins in the teens. Hakstol’s WORST season was 22.

The conference tourney currently IS the Frozen Faceoff. Are you suggesting that St Cloud State would host next year’s tournament because they won it this year? If so, interesting idea…

I suppose UND dropped the word “Fighting” from “Fighting Hawks” by then too because it sounded too mean.
-
Good job, McFly!

2919? You’re quite the time traveler. Has UND won any more titles between now and then? Is their consecutive winning seasons streak still intact?

FOR SALE: Literally found this in a bin of Sioux stuff in my garage yesterday morning. 1959 replica from a few years ago - AZSIOUX stuff. NEW condition. No customization on back - no tag but believe size large. I’m 5’10” and 185 lbs and it’s fairly roomy on me. $100 + $11 shipping and it’s yours.

After talking with numerous folks this weekend, I now have to agree with some of my fan friends: the time has come to put an end to the Frozen Faceoff and go back to on-campus playoff games. Here are a few of my reasons: #1. It’s true, this will NEVER replicate the atmosphere of the old WCHA Final Five, but even a Denver/CC championship game back then would have drawn a good number of local Gopher fans to the game. The lack of St Cloud fans at last night’s game was almost shocking. It’s a now undeniable fact: if North Dakota isn’t playing, the fan support is almost zero. #2. “Casual fans” are ruining it for me. The group of 10 parents with 30 kids under the age of 8 in front of me on Friday was tough to watch. Dads and moms alike stumbling around drunk while kids played on iPads or ran around the aisle. C’mon, some of us are there to actually watch the game. #3. Prices and parking. Good heavens, this isn’t exactly a family-friendly budget weekend anymore. Check with your bank’s loan officer before buying a ticket package and don’t DARE come to the game on an empty stomach. #4. I realize it’s supply and demand, but way to alienate your longtime supporters by offering hugely discounted tickets when a certain team doesn’t make it or pre-event sales are low while they sweat out a weekend in Omaha. #5. It’s a shame that the conference almost hopes that CC, Denver, UNO, Miami, and Western Michigan DON’T make the tournament as it obviously NEEDS North Dakota, St Cloud State, and UMD in order to boost attendance. On the flip-side, how fair is it for Miami, CC, or WMU to come to a near-empty rink for their chance at glory and a conference playoff championship? It’s not. And it certainly can’t help recruiting. Miami had a nice run for a long time and has turned into a doormat. The excitement will never be the same as a Sioux/Gopher conference championship game. It was a great run, but the WCHA Final Five died, what, a decade ago? It’s time to dig the NCHC Frozen Faceoff’s grave and bury it as well.

Technically correct, but it’s a 50/50 shot these days…hey, are you going to the “most consecutive winning seasons” banner-raising ceremony next fall?
-
Told my two youngest kids this morning, “boys, I’m old enough to remember watching the selection show so we could find out who North Dakota was playing this coming week…”
-
With all due respect, “destination game” records shouldn’t exactly be top-of-the-list criteria in determining a coach’s fate. If your weekend in Nashville or Las Vegas was ruined because North Dakota lost, that’s on you, not Brad Berry.
-
Good times, weren’t they? Literally had to Google where Canisius College was located before that weekend.
-
Do we still have a chance to make the tournament? Asking for my Facebook group friends!

Literally texted this same exact thing to @Wilburan hour ago.

Thanks to @Siouxman, @Ice Arena Man, @Fader, @fightingstew and the 10-12 other folks who made today’s Hogg lunch. Also happy 12th birthday to my brat, er, kid, @BulldogMafia. @Wilbur, sorry we missed you today. Hope your kid’s done puking. Bad call on getting the Xcel Energy Center roller dog last night, eh?

Just curious if you think Hubert Davis isn’t feeling a bit of pressure at North Carolina after missing all of ONE NCAA hoops tournament?
-
That 3 seasons of no NCAA tournament participation and 3 seasons of one-and-done is getting hard to ignore. By the fall of 2025, that 2016 title will be a long ways off in the rear view mirror. The seat is certainly getting warmer.

To be fair, this doesn’t seem like the time for hyperbole. -
I have 4 others on the list for tomorrow - non-board followers.

Haven’t heard back from her yet.

Their leading goal scorer, Harrison Roy, had 12 goals on the season to go along with 4 assists. And somehow still wound up a -20 on the season. OOF.
