I am sure we could have given your 3-8 team of '09 a tough game. But thats right you guys only want home games. Thats why you guys will never win a national title...you have to play OUTSIDE the Fargodome. 0-2 at the Alerus is a not impressive! Please state the reference to this "fact"? NDSU since moving to the MVFC have always scheduled patsys: 2008 vs Austin Peay, vs Cent. Conn. St. 2009 @ Sam Houston St (not a patsy but then again not at home!) vs Wagner 2010 vs Morgan St, vs South Dakota (regional team) 2011 vs Lafayette, vs St. Francis So until now the only home game that I would not consider a patsy is South Dakota because they used to be in the same conference. Some fans I talk to are sick of the Wagner's and the St. Francis' at the dome and want some "real" teams to play. But GT I think is scared to play UND because he saw the result at the end of the NCC days and he just saw his VB team get waxed in GF and I don't think he could afford his FB to go through the same embarrassment. I know teams back out of deals but it happens. After our first FCS win at Idaho State they backed out of a return game so UND could only schedule Brittney Spears, NDSU has had only 1 game to my knowledge of a backout since 2008. There are some who like cupcakes to get to that magic number of 7 for playoffs, but if you prefer Wagner over UND...go for it.

I would say the same thing about the 2001 playoffs against UC Davis. That place was rockin!!!!

I was at a NDSU-Western Illinois game about a couple years ago and they still chanted Sioux suck. I just shook my head and was glad W. Illinois beat them.

However SL knew SR would not give their blessing and could have brought this suit up back in November or earlier when the SBoHE was moving the timeline up. Why doesn't the SL go after the SR. They are the ones who are almost as much blame as the NCAA. Its their tribal council that is preventing UND from having their name and its their council preventing their whole tribe a voice to be heard.

I think because this is Fall of 2011 time ran out on the SL. If only the SL did this prior to 2010 or even when the SBoHE started moving up the retirement deadline. Where was Spirit Lake in 2007, or 2008? Also has anyone forgot, if SL gave us their blessing and the NCA accepted it, another tribal council can come in and disapprove the name and UND will have to retire it anyways. Unless the blessing is written in stone and has an expiration date of Dec. 31st, 5000 AD, then why not save the trouble and retire it now.

If your team doesn't play each game with that much enthusiasm they will get beat by anybody. It was more than a rival game, it was to prove that we belong in DI with the others who jumped ship in 2004. We can compete and we can conquer. We are 1 we are North Dakota!!!!

We get part A next year, and for part B we can do that this year and set us up really well for next year. But if we do another 3-8 this year, I think attendance will suffer even with a good schedule.

UND are only 12 point underdogs. Big change from 45-0 last year!!

I remember taking a shovel and digging out my seat at Memorial Stadium. That game was fun to watch as the snow melted into ice. Sioux kicked @ss in that game.

Just saying the NCAA dropped the hammer on SMU for all their violations, what says the NCAA couldn't drop the hammer on UND for all this time and repeatly disreguard for NCAA policy. Again its their club, their rules. Do you think the NCAA would meet with the tribes? Not here, and I can see them telling the SL and or SR no to a meet in Indy as they are busy. They didn't want to meet with the tribes in the past and the only way they will meet is in a courthouse and that could take years in which UND has to go before a NCAA review on their transition in less than 300 days and if you piss off the NCAA they may say you have to wait "X" amount of years more. Then where would UND be?

Could UND end up like SMU?

Why US Federal Court? Also what is holding the NCAA back in kicking us out. I am sure they hate this issue being brought up, and every attempt there is to save the name.

I say continue the retirement process. I am sorry to say it, but the NCAA said no and since this isn't a slam dunk way of saving the name then I say why jepordize our chance at the Big Sky and scheduling opponents plus jepordize our transition. The NCAA could get tired of this and tack on a few more years as a penalty. Its their club they make the rules, and as sh-tty as it is if they don't like you they will hurt you.

I used to do that too as a kid. I would take them home wash them out and have like 50 of them. I wish I still had them. Now they use 20oz bottles. Its not the same.

The Alerus is just like the Fargodome. If you look at the outside of the building you wouldn't think NDSU plays there except the message sign in the corner of the lot with the word NDSU on the top along with some sponsors. There is no sign that says home of NDSU football or a Bison logo on the building just that pinwheel and the word Fargodome. And on the inside there is no Bison logo on the field just the Fargodome logo. the green team is right its not the building its the fans. 17,000 people will make a difference not a stupid pinwheel, just like 12,000 fans will make a difference not a sign on the outside of the building saying home of UND football.
