  1. I have a creepy feeling that this game will be closer than it ever has been....I still think the good guys win, 6-3
  2. Looked like he was playing on a line with former USA teammate Patty O'Sullivan...those two could work well together this year...lots of speed.
  3. I thought this was a great game, especially considering all of the top level guys weren't playing for either team, save a few. For those who say this game was boring, then you obviously weren't paying attention. I know that Fighting Sioux hockey is as exciting as it gets, but these were professionals, and there is a great difference between the two levels of play. Seeing those guys do what they are capable of doing, to me, is very exciting and entertaining. If this game was boring for you, maybe skill doesn't matter as much as excitement to you, i don't know. But for me, I always enjoy seeing professional hockey in person almost as much as a great Fighting Sioux victory.
  4. The Wild wont be having an open practice here, they have practice in St. Paul this morning and have a 2:30 flight to come to GF. The good/bad news...depending on your view as a Wild fan, is that Minnesota will be playing a lot of their young prospects that are trying to make the team. Petr Kalus, James Sheppard, Benoit Pouliot, Colton Gilles...and anyone remember John Scott from MTU? Well he'll be playing for the Wild tonight as well...should be fun to watch, will be a shame if Stafford can't play, but Vanek is playing i've heard, so we'll have someone to boo... maybe they'll bring Drew with at least so he can go on the big screen and get his ovation.
  5. That is most definitely not true! If one person sticks their leg out to hit someone and can be ready for it, that person will be fine every time. It's the player who is unaware that they are about to have a knee-on-knee that is in danger of ending their career. So to say that Ulf hitting someone knee-on-knee was putting his own health at risk is just ignorant. It's a dirty, dirty, dirty move. IMO hitting someone knee-on-knee intentionally is just about the dirtiest thing a hockey player can do. Obviously it happens accidentally sometimes, then both players are at risk, but intentional...Ulf wasn't in danger when he did that.
  6. I thought that the EERC wanted that land?
  7. I heard that they added air conditioning this summer, which may have tempted many from other plants and factories that don't. Sounds like a pretty nice place to make a few bucks!
  8. -Stephen A. Smith -Basketball in general -Stupid American sports reporters who can't see outside of the bubble of the NFL, NBA, and MLB...There is more out there!!! -I hate it when ESPN doesn't cover hockey in any way, and I also hate it when they do decide to do some hockey, and then get everything completely wrong. -Matt Cooke -Vancouver Canuck fans -Haters -The Cowbell guy -Metallica -99% of the Canadians that come to GF (some are nice) -Bad softball umpires who don't call strikes, and the stupid old guys that don't swing! -People that make dumb changes just for the sake of making changes -Bosses that I am smarter than but I have to do what they say anyways -Message Boards -Jim Rome -The Government/Politics (there is a revolution coming that will be lead by the next generation, can't you feel it?) -Lists -People That is all for now...
  9. I'm tellin ya, I think it's gonna end up being VV that centers the first line. Good on draws and can clean up the rebounds that Osh and Duncs generate in front of the net.
  10. I wish somebody would ask Davidson if he is kicking himself for not drafting Toews after seeing Oshie and Duncan play well together at camp...Imagine if they could have kept that line together...Bad move by the Blues, EMFJ is good and all, but keeping that line together would have been magic.
  11. Anyone notice that Fabian is in that prospect camp? Maybe he can awkwardly score some clutch goals and grab an awkward contract... FABIAAAAANNNN!!!!!
  12. It just doesn't make sense to me to have our top two centers on the same line. Vandy is our best Center, IMO, especially on draws and he is good in front of the net getting a stick on a puck. I was actually thinking this season that Vandy would have helped with the style of play that oshie and toews play because they skate circles around everyone and get shots off, but because they cycle around the outside, there usually isn't anyone to clean up the rebounds. I think Vandy can play this role next season. He is great on faceoffs and has shown the ability to put the puck in the net. I don't buy the chemistry argument for Vandy and Watkins because they didn't play together for most of the season. If Forney isn't healthy, I think Watkins centering Trupp and Miller or Genoway would be an interesting line with a lot of speed and scoring ability.
  13. Well, here's my shot at the lines for next year... Duncan-Vandy(A)-Oshie Forney-Watkins-Trupp Kozek-Kaip(A)-Hextall/Hamilton Malone-Zajac-Miller/Martens Hextall and Martens will probably be the ones fighting for PT, but I think Martens could be a nice surprise next year and contribute a bit. Plus this is all assuming Toews makes the jump. As for defense, I think Lee will go... that leaves Chorney©-LaPoint Finley(A)-Bina(A) Jones-Genoway Marto Now I really believe Marto is going to be a really nice player at UND, but it might take him some time to work and earn his way into the lineup...I could see him either replacing Genoway, or playing at a forward spot by the end of the year. But just like Bina did, he's going to have to force the coaching staff to not sit him. For captaincy...I think it's Chorney, and Bina and Kaip the A's...but I wouldn't be surprised to see Vandy get one, or maybe Finley. TTFN!
