"But it's ok, because they are insured" What a ridiculous thing to say to someone who just lost everything.
-
You don’t actually think the nfl finding out all of their positives were false positives were isolated incidents do you? They were only found out because they were able to retest, no everybody has that capability. This thing is far more widespread already and the testing has been shown to be unreliable, so what the hell are we doing making life-changing decisions on faulty information?
-
Information can absolutely be a bad thing if that information isn't correct. Look what recently happened in the NFL. False positives absolutely are happening and that is leading to completely unnecessary measures being taken, which includes the closure of schools in my son's district. Completely unnecessary and is going to have a real cost associated with it in these kid' education.

The relationship between the black community and the police is severely broken and in a cycle that can’t self correct. Cops in places of high crime/poverty are going to be viewed as the enemy. Adults in those communities will teach their children they are not to be trusted and the police will be a self fulfilling prophecy in those communities because they continue to be high crime areas and cops won’t stop arresting(overpolice, if you view it from the other side) criminals. If kids grow up thinking cops are the enemy, they can never break the cycle.

Can’t say I disagree with you here. Police clearing the streets immediately following peaceful protests has to be the lesson we take away from all of this. Protest during the agreed upon times, in the agreed upon places and all is well. Outside of those times and places, you will be arrested, period.
-
If you watch in real time, there is less than a minute between him shooting someone and when you believe the police should have been aware of that via dispatch and positively identified him in order to make an arrest. Your asking too much for the communication chain.
-
You seem to be missing that the guy he shot was also carrying.
-
You said if a black man had done what this kid had done he’d be dead. I disagree. This kid, based on the other videos of them being chummy with police was likely known to the police and his intentions there were also known. Him being black or white is irrelevant in this case. His purpose for being there, if anything, is the reason he was likely given more latitude. Right or wrong, I think that’s debatable. But he isn’t alive because he’s white, that’s just more racial BS if you ask me from the media. Show me a video of a white dude running from police, resisting arrest and stealing a cops taser(combining many of our current events) who gets to not get shot at and I’ll believe your double standard argument.
-
Why is the obvious not being stated here? In real time, not looking back with all of the knowledge we have now, the police didn’t have any clue that this kid shot two people. Their delay in arresting him isn’t some white privilege mystery. The police knew some young men were carrying guns, so just seeing a kid carrying a gun wouldn’t have alarmed them. All they had to go on was some dude yelling “that guy just shot two people”, which they might not even been able to hear with helmets on inside their cars. He walked up to them with his hands up and didn’t look like a threat. Had they known what we know now, they likely would’ve arrested him. When they gained that knowledge they arrested him. No mystery to me here.

Race rhetoric and telling black people they can’t get ahead in America as it currently exists.

If Minneapolis had done exactly what Trump recommended in May, Minneapolis’ third precinct would still be standing. They finally realized that last night and the results speak for themselves.
-
Except the elected officials in Minneapolis I guess.
-
Depends on who you ask. I found Obama to be the most divisive president in my lifetime. Perspective is everything.
-
How can you not see how delusional And contradictory this thought process is? On one hand you say our country has a deep underlying, 400 year old problem. And on the other hand you say that the problem is Trumps rhetoric. He’s only been president for 3.5 years. The problem isn’t Trump.
-
And he wouldn’t have needed to if he had handled May properly. People were emboldened by May’s fiasco and it spilled over into last night. Good on him and Frey for learning from their massive mistakes and taking decisive action this time around.
-
Hoisted with their own petard. Democratic run cities and states, in an attempt to be woke and cater to their base are handing the election to Trump.
-
This is a fair point. As long as I didn’t have to hear them speak about “I take responsibility”, there may be a hollywood gal or two I’d have a drink with.
-
What point are you attempting to make? Protesters wouldn't last nearly as long in rural ND or rural Montana. You'd step onto private property and have a shotgun pointed at you. What's your point?
-
You think people with a gun rack in their truck are extremes? What's your connection to North Dakota again?
-
This condescending BS is exactly why people hate "elite" aholes from the coasts. I grew up around people with gun racks in their trucks and I'd rather spend time with them any day over the "important people" in Hollywood.

I think the Republicans are simply highlighting what happens in our country to law abiding citizens who stand up to the Left's "cause of the day". Follow along with our social cause or we will ruin your life. I've been watching this happen to good people for years.
-
So what's the problem then? The republicans are highlighting this incident as an example of law abiding citizens being persecuted on prosecuted for following the rules. (Rightfully so) Why is it ok to take away someone's rights because you happen to disagree personally with their actions? They broke no laws, but their names will forever be associated with this incident and trying to run a personal injury practice will be nearly impossible for them. I would sue the pants off of anyone I could if I was them too.
-
Being charged and being convicted are two very different things. I’m no attorney, but I’d say they have a pretty easy defense given the laws on the books. The reason they are invited to speak is exactly what’s happening in this thread. You don’t like them or agree with their actions so you are trying to take away their rights. ie Cancel culture. Cancel culture is a real problem and at times subverts people’s rights when the mob doesn’t like what they’ve said.(doxing)
-
It seems like you are conflating what you personally would do and what they by definition have a “right” to do. In Missouri, the presence of a fence constitutes a warning to would be trespassers. If they breach said fence they are now criminally trespassing and could be arrested and held civilly and criminally liable. In reading further, Missouri has a “castle doctrine” law on the books that allows property owners to use physical force to defend their property. These people seem well within their “rights” with their actions.

In other news, Yankees fans report Red Sox fans are the worst. The Hatfields report the McCoys are mean and the Capulets are saying the Montagues are liars.
