  1. prpich got hit after the whistle... tv went to commercial, yet to see if there may be a penalty.

sioux top 2 lines are cycling the puck very well, hopefully that will come in handy in the 3rd when wisco gets tired.

also, looking at the stats for wisco, the score the most goals by far in the 1st period. they give up the most in the 2nd, and we happen to score most of ours in the 2nd, so keep up the pressure sioux.

  2. southpaw- what's with the name switch?

Oshie almost gets one...awesome pressure on the PP.

    Badgers at full strength

havent used that name since high school... finally decided to change it up.

  3. oshie with a ridiculous move, spirko'd the defender, but shot was stopped.

sioux pp looking very good and controlled.

sioux almost score, but elliott makes a sprawling save.

    penalty over.

sioux hitting hard, like to see that.

  4. does anyone think lee and chorney sould switch sides on the pp?

right now, they can't get a one-timer going unless it comes from the side of the boards... if they switched sides, they would easily be able to one timer it to each other.

  5. I'm leaving at 10 and there's room in the car. You can stay in our room. I have a blow up mattress you can use. I'll buy your beer all week end (I'm getting a second mortgage on the house). :) OK?

since she's not taking you up on the offer for free beer... just stop by fargo on your way to the cities and give me money to cover my beer for the weekend. thanks

  6. a voter from grand forks says the UND athletic dept never gave him his ballot.... he said he would have voted for oshie for roy, and oshie/toews/lee/chorney for rookie team. not sure if that one vote for oshie would have tied things up... but would have been nice.

  7. Toews has 29 points in 37 games as a 17 year old. Raymond has 28 points in 39 games as a 20 year old.

only count league games, since it's a league award. raymond is up one point on toews in league games. and raymond plays for a team that blows... so on a good team, he'd be better.

i'd love for toews to have it, but raymond is also deserving.

  8. Just curious why no one is talking about how UND beat all of these teams by a fair amount of points then, later in the year....all the games have gotten so much closer??? So St. Cloud St. got better but UND didnt??

That could be one option... or it could be that the Sioux were firing on all cylinders all year, but hit a bump in the road. The sioux/scsu games earlier this year were very close, even when the Sioux played some of their best ball. However, if you can't shoot and can't rebound, you're not going to win. Especially in the playoffs, where you're playing the best of the best and not some teams you can beat up by 50.

  9. I'll try to get them done sooner if I can, but I can't promise anything.

    slacker.

i think everyone on this board will agree we'd rather see much less of your posts, if it means jfr gets to see some sioux hockey.

especially if it means less of you :)

  10. I have an extra Frozen Four ticket package available for anyone at face value of $150. Either PM me or email me at bmorlock@charter.net or bmorlock@otpco.com. I can hand delivery to the West Regional or deliver by mail if necessary. They are Sec 434, Row S, Seat 4.

If it's still available, i might be interested

  11. Apparently not the NHL scouts. Kessel will be drafted at least twenty spots ahead of where Oshie was taken last year. I wonder why that is. Could it be because his offensive skills are unmatched by any other 17 year old in the world? (including Toews)

You've had some good posts so far, but this one is as dumb as they get.

Oshie was drafted as an unkown high school kid from a small MN school. Last year's draft class was/is way more talented than this years class. Not only was last year's best player better than everyone this year, but most of the top 5 are better than this year's best player. Oshie surpassed expectations on a freshman-heavy team... you can't deny that.

Kessel comes in as a possible savior to USA hockey. The hype over Kessel has driven had driven his stock up well before last year's draft. He probably would have gone 10-15 last year. In a lower talented draft, he'll be a top 3 pick, possibly #1. Kessel spent a year at UM and lived up to expectations. He scored points when people expected him to score points... albeit with lots of upperclassmen to help him out.

Were Oshie not drafted last year and the two were available this year... Kessel would be in the 1-3 spot and Oshie would be a top 10, most likely 7-9. In a draft class that isn't as talented as the past couple, that's not a huge difference in skills.

  12. Boy, if N. J. Petry could see this thread there would be another seething letter to the editor about unsportsmanship and hockey, resplendent with four letter words and everything.

In my case, I was on the "Tastes Great" side until a few years ago when I had to start taking the "Less Filling" characteristic into consideration. Now, at my age, both matter.

is that why all you ever drink is flavored water?
