unfortunately, holy cross will be sent to whatever regional the gophers go to.. would have liked to see bemidji play the gophers at the ralph.

earlier this year, when the sioux were still very young and not playing well a lot of people were criticizing everything about the team. it was as if there was a giant fire on the bandwagon and everyone was jumping off.
one post i remember distinctly i will post below... if you're going to the regional, feel free to print this page off and take it to shep to eat.
If it turns out that it all "comes together" (I love how everyone keeps hoping that will happen even when the evidence thus far is to the contrary) and they play in the Ralph in the Regional, I want someone to print a copy of this, and I will eat it in the organ bar between the first and second periods of their first game.
I'd love to cut Toews some slack, and I will, but I just can't believe he is the 2nd best undrafted player in the world at this point.
also, if you remember posts from other sioux fans who need some type of eating to do next weekend, feel free to post it here

even the gophers pp looks slow and sloppy. someone should find out what percentage of the gophers goals are scored on nhl ice compared to olympic ice. because it seems they are less effective when they dont have so much room.

Gopher fans have to be frustrated with their team right now, as they appear to be playing with no heart at all. Maybe they'll carry that over into next weekend.
actually, most posters on uscho that are gopher fans say this game doesn't matter at all. they say wisco has something to prove this game and taht's why they are playing better. i'm glad i cheer for a team that never says quit.

northern mich and mich are tied after 2 in the ccha 3rd place game. with a tie or win, mich advances to the ncaa tournament. if i'm northern mich and its tied with a minute to go in the game, i'm pulling my goalie and going for the w.

wisco took some lessons from the sioux yesterday and are blocking shots left and right. if you can block the points from the shot on the gophers pp, then they are much less effective.

this game will determine if they get sent to the ralph or if they get shipped out east. the gophs and wisco have a lot to play for. not to mention, going 0-2 right before the ncaa's is not a good thing.

i did some playing around and it looks like the best that the sioux can finish is in a tie for 6th place. it may not be eough to send the gophers elsewhere... but with the way umtc is playing, it may not be a bad idea to face them with a home crowd than in the frozen four with a neutral crowd.

it may not be a bad idea to lose this game if you're the gophers... they'd drop to the #2 overall seed in which they'd play holy cross instead of bemidji. i'd imagine bemidji could give the gophs a run for their money in a home-crowd atmosphere at the ralph.

1-0 wisco, gophers are looking pretty weak and uncoordinated right now.
perhaps playing so many weak teams to end their season inflated their stats.

if sioux hold on to win, they'll be tied for 6th, with miami and cornell. sioux will be a 7 seed and looking at the seedings from a completely numbers point: umn, UND, cc, and holy cross.
because cc and UND can't play, it looks like michigan or possibly bc will come to the ralph.
