  1. I haven't checked the standings. Does SCSU have a chance for first? O wait, that comes at our expense....I guess I don't want to see MN/Duluth in the first round now.

I hope Minnesota gets the McNaughton on Friday night while they are hanging their heads after an ass-whoopin by Tech. A win by the Sioux should clinch it for the Gophers, correct?

  2. Kaip scores his 3th goal of the season.

Is anyone able to watch the DU broadcast I can't get it to work.

Working fine for me. Are you going through a wireless router? I always have better luck plugging in directly to my internet connection (bypassing the router).

  3. Wow!!!

For those that didn't see it...just think Ovechkins' goal from last year, but Oshie passed it to Duncan.

    WOW!!

It's funny that you mention that. They showed a highlight of that goal by Ovechkin on a commercial shortly before Oshie pulled off almost the same move.

  4. Stafford with a goal in tonight's Sabres/Bruins game.

Here's a link to a summary of the game on the Sabres website:

Some pretty nice praise from the Sabres coach. It looks like Stafford was actually the #1 star of the game.

  5. Duncan mentioned in INCH's Hobey Watch:

    BULL MARKET

    Ryan Duncan

    North Dakota

    Sophomore

    Forward

We started building a case for Duncan, who leads the WCHA with 21 goals and shares the league lead in scoring with 36 points, after naming him our Player of the Week for his efforts in the Fighting Sioux's sweep of Minnesota. Though his play against the Golden Gophers was particularly impressive, the diminutive forward (the Calgary native's listed as 5-foot-6, 158 pounds) has been the one constant in the lineup for a North Dakota team that's ridden the roller coaster this season. His more heralded classmates, T.J. Oshie (4-7

  6. Sorry, but I don't see a whole lot of penalties against UND that weren't penalties. We simply lost our cool and sent nearly half the team to the box.

I was saying "Let them rough you up! You might get an extra PP out of it!" Seriously, if UND retaliates for every little poke and jab to our players all night long we're going to be rotating 4 PK lines all night.

Let's face it. After our first two goals, we looked flat out bad. Can anyone explain why Darcy had to slash the goaltender? I mean, that was the capper in terms of dumb penalties.

Porter's penalty, in my opinion, was the only penalty the Sioux had to take in the first period. The rest were just bad judgement. I'm glad we were able to take a few Gophers to the box with us, but seriously. It was BAD.

And Porter's should not have been called. That was a great defensive play, in my opinion.

  7. I caught the end of the game on the webcast. It looked like Foyt was accepting the trophy along with the three captains. It also looked like he had an 'A' on his jersey. Did I see that right, or was the low-quality webcast making me see things?

  8. In this week's WCHA preview, INCH suggests that Dean Blais may be back behind the bench next season at a WCHA school. It even hints at Blais as a possible replacement for Rivard as women's coach at UND.

Considering the source, I don't put much stock in this. Especially the notion that he'll be coaching the women's team.

  9. 2.) Defense--Under the Gasparini & Blais era UND was known for defenseman that could double as a defensive-end for the football team & the same d-men would hit like a freight-train. Teams did not want to be in front of the net for fear of getting the bleep knocked out of them. There was a "swagger". I don't see that with UND this year. Seems like Hakstol is going after more atheltic offensive-minded defensemen and it seems to not be working---case in point last 3 seasons of Gophe defensemen

This is the #1 problem, by far, in my opinion. Dead on analysis!
