good player.  4.25 star from neutral zone (for what its worth).  lots of nice scouting reports.  Passed the eye test in Minny State.  Like all the local kids, the big question is once they get into the bigger pond, do they rise or are they already at the top of their game.  If I'm recruiting, I am watching a ton of film on him and watching him closely at USA camp...I don't think he is a no brainer chippa, but he is a possible chippa that just hasn't seen the ocean....

This kid is the real deal. Here are his numbers at Moorhead in his freshman & sophomore seasons:

    27 GP  15-29-44
    31 GP  32-46-78

If he replicated his sophomore numbers next year, he would be close to the all-time scoring record in Moorhead as a junior.

Here were his numbers in the HS Elite league last year after his freshman season:

    19 GP    12-9-21

I really hope Dane can land him.

For those who didn't see it, here's his snipe against Edina in the state tourney:

  2. I really hope there's nothing to the rumors some are saying that pressure from current players is having a hand in possibly keeping Jackson. I think one poster stated it best .. this should be a decision about the next 10-15 years, not next season. I'd gladly take a rebuilding season or two if it meant setting us up for sustainable success.

Who had 6 or 7 that they just shut out?

The observation that CSC has exactly 8 years coaching is most curious.

Wednesday at 2359 hours tells me they have a short shortlist.

St. Clair's experience is mostly at the Junior level, not collegiate or professional.

Did UND do a national search last time or did they just install Berry?

After a new HC is chosen, is it possible to know the others who interviewed for the job but were turned down?

If I remember correctly, they announced Berry like the next day after Hak stepped down.

This was under 'Minimum Requirements'. Interesting why the requirement is 8 years.

Under Preferred Qualifications is a Masters or Advanced degree.

Lang has a Masters degree in Organizational Development.

  6. I'm gonna keep beating the Eric Lang drum!

    • 8 seasons of a combination of full-time collegiate or professional hockey coaching experience and/or professional hockey playing experience.

Coincidentally Lang has 8 years of head coaching experience at the collegiate level.

Lots of moving parts by somehow win this series and have CC knock off DU then get ASU at the X.....

    "So you're telling me there's a chance"

Then figure out how to beat W. Michigan again to get a date with the Gophers in Fargo.

  8. Hypothetical question. If/when the next coaching change happens, would UND ever hire from outside? Up to this point it's always been hiring from within the UND family. But is it time to rethink that strategy? I look at a guy like Eric Lang and what he did to build with a program with extremely little resources. Seems to me a guy like that could potentially do amazing things at a program like UND.
