Anyone think Hak would give up this month's salary to not have let Cichy and Bruno walk after last season based on the current situation. Those two leaving still is troubling IMO. Both would have been decent contributors this year IMO.
-
With the news of all these injuries, it makes pissing last night's "W" away all the more disturbing. Will be interesting to see how the 16 healthy bodies that are available react tonight. Maybe Dell can steal one? Or at least play better than last night.
-
Not disagreeing...he just didn't look 100% during warm-ups or on his shift prior to the "knee to knee". Again my point is look at where Rocco is. Knee injuries are difficult to play thru.
-
That's an understatement. Harvard is, plain and simple, not very good. Too lazy to look it up, but how many times has a Hak coached squad puked up a two goal lead at home over the last few years??? My guess is 3 to 4 times as many as they have come back from a 2 goal deficit. And this one was in the 3rd period against marginal talent. I know HU has 8 NHL draft picks, but I didn't see that talent last night. The key stat to me was early in the 2nd, HU had 3 shots on goal and 2 goals. Dell didn't need to have his best game for UND to win last night, he just didn't need to be next to brutal. Why the coaching/training/medical staff let Knight try and play was beyond me. You could tell he was favoring his knee from his 1st shift and was maybe at 50-60%. This better not be a Rocco situation where they try and let him give it shot and play thru it only to be sidelined for 8 weeks. UND needed their veterans to step up and they didn't. None of them played poorly, but our freshman carried the load last night. Mattson was amazing. Kristo was really close to being the hero late in the 3rd and in OT. Big game tonight...no way I see Knight playing. Mario was out last night, but will probably gut it out tonight. Kristo and Nelson need to come up big as does Dell, if he plays.

Only rumblings I've heard about water issues is due to the anuual spring flooding of the Red!

Probably has something to do with the fact that my yearly property taxes in Fargo exceed the GDP of Burundi!!!

A couple of years ago there was a local report in Fargo of the high % of renters in the city. Nationally, home-ownwership was approx. 60% to 40% renters. Fargo's stats were flip-flopped based on that report. Build them and they will rent...

Looking forward to 2 more games at the Ralph this weekend...always a treat. Sioux sweep: 3-1 and 5-2.

Kelley / SBoHE Deceived the Legislature and ND People
Oxbow6 replied to star2city's topic in UND Nickname
(a) is a given and always has been IMO and (b) might be hard to prove, but have know doubt it occurred to some extent. -
That's nothing more than p*n*s envy. It's something they'll never, ever have that we do have and it's like a festering ass boil that won't ever heal!

Fitting Kristo gets the only goal. He was far and away the best skater on the ice last night and really the only guy from either team that was able to create his own offensive. Boring hockey to watch with Deano's crew going MTU all weekend with the 1-2-2 trap. Dell was brillant all weekend IMO. I'll say it again, Gleason is just a hockey player. Kid can fly and is so useful at F or D. That 4th line only had 2 or 3 shifts in the 3rd, but their shift at about the 10 minute mark was one of the best shift's in the 3rd period by any line. Gaarder IMO is a very poor man's version of Oshie with the way he plays. He is fast, plays physical...doesn't back down from getting hit and is looking to dish one out and he has some skill offensively. I really like that he plays both ends with a little bit of edge to him. Last night's gritty, tough effort comes down to one guy...Mario. With Knight out, he suited up and was basically playing with one arm and at about 70% speed. He was a gamer last night. This team, by winning 6 of 8, has set themselves up to control their own destiny in the 2nd half. Sweep Harvard and beat Kelly Clarkson...that's 9 of 11 with tDon and his girls coming to town. Get Rocco and Knight back and then this team could be salty come Feb. and March. GO SIOUX! GO PACK GO!

Agreed with all of the above. Officiating was fine in that they missed obvious calls both ways. Your Mac example is spot on...happened right in front of us. Dell was great IMO...D was too minus the very last play when they got caught watching and hoping Knight would bury the winner. Mac can't fall asleep and be a spectator. Once it hit OT I was just wanting a point with a tie. Didn't happen so got to get 2 points tonight. Was very disappointed in UNO 1-2-2 trap style defensive play last night. Thought I was watching MTU or UAA play. Was expecting and hoping for more of a CC type game. Guess that's how Deano get gets more out of less??
-
Big loss to open a big series. Mario does many things that one doesn't see on a stat sheet. Rodwell, Gleason and Rowney would be a 3rd line I'd like to see tonight.
-
Seriously??!! I'll put the odds of this happening on the same level as me getting signed to a free-agent NBA contract before the NBA season starts...Zero! BTW that fact I'm white and 5'8" in heels doesn't help my cause.

Sold.

Change of plans in our family schedule...have 2 of our 4 tickets in Sec. 110 available for tomorrow, Friday, vs. UNO. $80 for the pair. PM if interested.
-
You could have stopped with this and I still would have given you a "+1". Kelly has been nothing short of embarrassing since he arrived at UND IMO.
-
Or "Dickin-a-box"...kid has really slipped off the map. Played fairly well last year. This year when he has played he has been brutal. Tough to see. I thought he might be one that made a big step up from last year. Obviously not...
-
^^^^^^ Exactly...if the Sunday BSU game didn't teach this team about they need to grind out wins, unlike the fast-paced, wide-open games vs. CC, then it will be a couple steps back instead of forward vs. UAA. Can't get 4 points without a "W" Friday though. Have to get that 1st one.

Kristo was exceptionally great this weekend and his linemate were not far behind. Defensively were are still a ways from where I thought we would be with the guys coming back. Blood logged a ton of minutes but he still is unsteady with the puck and gets used in the open ice alot. Simpson is 18 years old...you get some good and some bad. Forbert has looked alot better than early on. Mattson is the real deal. Mac is Mac...you know what you are going to get nightly. The kid no one has mentioned is Gleason...he was all over the ice in that 3rd period and IMO was one of our top 3 players last night. Kid rolls at forward then Hak double shifts him the next shift on D. Happened a few times. He should be on the PP point instead of Simpsom IMO. Simply put, he is just a hockey player! The MOP line is going to be huge for this team in the 2nd half if they keep progressing. They all take accountability on both ends of the ice. Parks IMO has that "it" quality when I watch him. He could be a special player down the road. Would have not predicted a sweep after watching Sinday's game vs. BSU, but give Mario and the rest of the Sr. players credit for leadership to get this team ready and believeing. #13 for CC...how do we not have a clue where he is on the ice??? Especially after his 3rd goal, 4th goal, ... 2 big games won by this team vs. a very good WCHA contender. Have to parlay it up @ UAA now.
-
Will be heading up for both games this weekend. No expecting much as far as wins. Would just like to see a better effort though than last Sunday! I think a split is the best case scenerio for UND. CC has lost 2 games all year...both of which the opposing team scored 5+ goals and offense isn't UND's specialty.
-
1st UND MBB game I've watched since that fiasco and loss vs. Valley City St. at the Betty a couple years back. Jones has made great strides in getting talent to UND. Was impressed with what I saw last night. Nice win vs. a very solid Big Sky team.
-
Agree...I was at all those Winona playoff games. Embarrassing attendance. Saw NDSU play a couple time this year. Jensen is no doubt the key offensively from here on out. IF he plays well, SU will score lots of points. Defensively IMO stopping the run is their key to success. If teams have to throw, that seconday (if healthy) will take over the game defensively. I despise NDSU, but I'm a ND boy thru and thru so success from here on out for the AC FB team is good by me if it helps some out there realize ND isn't part of Canada. GO PACK GO!

Griz had 2 RBs go over 100+ yards.
-
My Griz fan buddy from Missoula was at game. Weather was cold with some blustery conditions. He said Griz dominated physical play and just ran ball down Cat's throats. Weather has to be decent for Cats to win if a rematch occurs IMO...see last year's NDSU playoff game vs. them.
