This team will have the best opportunity to get to Tampa by playing the regional at the X full of Kelly Green IMO. I'm for anything that helps them get there.

The WF girls placed 2nd behind Bismarck in the state tournament. The WF starting goalie was a freshman. Kids just want to play. Given the opportunity they'll compete and at the end of the day that's all that matters...getting the opportunity to compete.

This "break" is a student enrollment issue. Hockey, boys or girls, has nothing to do with this. Apples to oranges.

IF...and that's a big if...the NDHSAA can make tens of thousands of dollars per year more hosting hockey in Fargo than GF it is a no brainer plus the environment in Scheels for a tournament like this is much better IMO. But GF does have the Moon it is has that going for it!

Article in Forum and Herald today by Tom Miller suggests Fargo might be getting the state hockey tournament permamently starting in 2019. Fargo has it next year then it is scheduled for GF in 2018. Last year, 2015, in Fargo the gate was up $30000 while operating costs $10000 less. Not a math major but that is a $40000 bump for the NDHSAA. The Dakota Bowl in Fargo on average brought in $10000 more a year at the gate and that is why GF in 2014 probably hosted it's last Dakota Bowl in awhile. Right or wrong attendance and profitable dollars matter........Fargo provides both better than GF for both FB and hockey. On a side note the Class B boys BB tournament should never be played outside of Bismarck.

Been in ATL for a few days......."Hawks" is just a poor nickname with limited good design options especially for a university where that nickname that already been beaten to death by many school.

Would be like North, South, Shanley, Davies and Oak Grove all pooling together to form one team. Makes no sense. Bismarck can do better especially if Mandan, Williston and Dickinson can field one team each.

My teenage daughter and I are good possibility. Need to convince her to get up before noon. For those that have teenage kids who are between sport seasons and it's a weekend morning you understand.

The FB players are a great added dimension to the atmosphere.

Blais has something to do with it but IMO it starts with 2 players: Guentzel and Cooper. Guentzel is a tremendous talent but he chirps and dives constantly then you add on his stick work after every whistle and Cooper is their pseudo tough guy who is nothing more than an agitator. He would get totally worked in 95% of on ice fights if it came to that.

Agree. JJ is more effective than Wilke on 3rd line and Gersich with Sanderson and Olson is a great 4th.
