  1. I put the "too young to win anything this year" line in my signature on USCHO during the pre-season threads, as many fans, both opposing and Sioux fans, proclaimed that the Sioux were too young to do anything with their season. After going through struggles, they finished the season strong. They were a team that didn't have many expectations placed on their shoulders before the season started, and they got some valuable playoff experiences with their late season run. Hopefully they can build on that next year.
  2. Do you have a source for this? Sounds like the Sioux could get hit very hard with defections this off-season. Not fun. I'm not sure why Parise would go, especially after he said that he would for sure be back for his senior season. Money can always change plans though. Smaby, Stafford, Parise, Spirko, Zajac, Toews, and Oshie. All possibilites to go this off-season.
  3. Yeah Sioux Sioux! Go Sioux! Hoping for a good game and a Sioux victory!
  4. Ouch...that's too bad. I would really love to see him in a Sioux uni next season; I think he could be a very dominant player and be in contention for the Hobey. But it looks like that may not happen... I guess the lure of the NHL and money outweighs playing with his brother next season at UND.
  5. I agree about the possibility of a good amount of Sioux players signing. Let's hope that only 2 or 3 sign at most, but there is the chance of 2-3 more. Losing 5 players would be a huge blow. But I also agree that if they only lose 2 players or less, next year's Sioux team could be even scarier as long as they retain their chemistry and solid work ethic.
  6. Better rethink next year's PP units.
  7. The Broadmoor and West Regional Championships don't mean anything?
  8. They got some ROY awards!
  9. I don't care who gets it, but I really hope that the Sioux score first. Getting a goal against Schneider early is key, as he has been playing very well lately, with shutouts in his last 2 games. A goal early for the Sioux will be a good momentum builder.
  10. I still think that Toews will return for at least one more year regardless of where he goes in the draft. We have to remember that he is only 17 this season, and even the AHL would be a big jump for someone that age. Another year (or two ) at UND would go a long way toward helping him develop the muscle needed to contend in the AHL/NHL.
  11. Email sent.
  12. Do it Danny. Sign.
  13. Before everyone gets in a frenzy, maybe we should wait to see exactly who goes pro and who doesn't. There are alot of Sioux players this year that have the ability to go pro; we'll just have to wait and see after the season ends to see which ones do go pro.
  14. Wow, this thread needs to be closed. Kessel is a good player. He deserved the INCH ROY. End of story.
  15. David McKee, goalie for Cornell, signs with Anaheim. http://www.tsn.ca/nhl/news_story/?ID=160746&hubname=
  16. Does that mean that we won't be playing on the same line?
  17. Definitely agree with this. When is the Penrose winner announced?
  18. You and me both. Those guys run the town when it comes to the girls.
  19. Thanks alot for posting these!!

    Spirko

I wouldn't believe that Kessel rumor. He may leave, but I doubt he would leave school before he is even drafted...

    Spirko

IIRC, last year he went home to Slovakia during the summer months.
  22. This rumor is true, unfortunately. The main reason, of course, being that the true info from the JFK assassination is hidden beneath the marble Sioux head in the main entrance. Ralph never wanted anyone to find that info, so if the Sioux nickname is changed, he plans to implode the REA. And I heard this from the most reputable source in the land...the Easter bunny, who heard it from the Tooth Fairy, who, as we all know, tells the truth in matters such as this.

    Spirko

This would be a huge loss if Spirko left. He is a player that would be a great 4-year player, getting better each year, much like Panzer did. I could see him being a leader on this team for the next two seasons, and challenging for the Hobey in his senior season. Let's hope that this is all just a rumor and that he will return for his jr/sr years.
  24. I'll be there. And I am staying at my house in Madison.
