I don't hold coaches responsible for the players not playing with emotion. If he puts out a crappy lineup, doesn't develop the players, gets out-coaches, makes bad decisions...then by all means blame Hakstol. But if the Sioux can't put forth a good effort on a regular basis, I put more blame on the players themselves. They are 18-23 year old men, they shouldn't need a coach yelling at them to get them to play with some intensity. Most of them have been playing hockey for the vast majority of their lives, they should know by now that you can't give a 90% effort and still expect to win...even against a uber-crappy MSU team.

I'll take Duncan.

While I don't think that Kozek is quite "fourth line material" (he was our leading goal-scorer last year, and wasn't even on a regular PP unit), I agree that he doesn't appear to be the best fit with VV/Duncan. I would like to see Gregoire or Trupp up there with Duncan & VV to see what they can do.

I think the obvious answer then is to just not play the games at all. How do forfeits count on the W/L record?

Obviously you didn't watch the Tech/UM game from earlier. They looked worse than the Sioux did. I'm not guaranteeing that the Sioux will win tomorrow, but it might be a better game. "This team is crap."

That wasn't even HGS...Lerg didn't have to make many tough saves at all.

What is most likely to happen: MSU scores another goal within the first 5min. The Sioux score a goal with 6min remaining. They then pull the goalie. MSU scores an ENG. Game over. 4-1 MSU win. PROVE ME WRONG, SIOUX!!

I don't think a tie helps us in the PWR.

I don't think he's really been tested tonight. Most of the Sioux shots are from far out, and when they get in close they aren't getting connecting on passes.

I think I might just watch the game with the audio muted.

I'm glad there's a webcast for this game. Listening on the radio might have been confusing with a Trupp and a Tropp on the ice.

Already 4-0 UM over Tech. Some dude with a hatty already. Either UM is really good or Tech is really bad. I wouldn't know since we haven't played either school yet, but I would guess it is a combo of the two.

I really hope that the US doesn't lose to Czech Republic. They can't hit the net, can't control the puck along the boards, and constantly go for the home run pass which never connects and then just ends up as icing. That said, Canada looks pretty good. Tavares is killing it out there so far.

Did they take away the 2nd assist from Kristo on USA's 2nd goal? On USA Hockey, it is now showing as Bowman from O'Brien and Wahl.

I spoke too soon...from Brad's blog: So we at least get the webcast against MSU. Also noted that Mario L won't be at the GLI due to him having his appendix taken out earlier this week.

Regardless of how the game turned out, it doesn't change the fact that he is a chode for faking an injury to try to draw a penalty.

Key word in that sentence is LISTEN. Man, I wish we had some television coverage of the GLI (aside from the championship game). Merry Xmas everybody. Time for another Fighting Sioux GLI championship!!

Doesn't sound good for tv/webcast coverage for any game aside from the Championship. That blows. We just have to hope that the Sioux beat MSU then if we want to see them!
