  1. From Brad: No surprise, UND goes with the same lines. David Fischer is out for Minnesota with an injury. The Gophers also have dressed an extra forward according to the line chart, so they must be waiting until after pre-game skate to decide who is in. UND's lines 17 Jason Gregoire--16 Ryan Duncan--26 Brett Hextall 19 Evan Trupp--29 Chris VandeVelde--21 Matt Frattin 20 Matt Watkins--11 Darcy Zajac--8 Ryan Martens 10 Andrew Kozek--22 Brad Malone--18 David Toews 2 Joe Finley--5 Chay Genoway 3 Derrick LaPoint--25 Jake Marto 6 Zach Jones--14 Brad Miller 31 Brad Eidsness 30 Aaron Walski Scratches: Mario Lamoureux, Brent Davidson, Ben Blood, Corey Fienhage Minnesota's lines 29 Ryan Stoa--19 Jordan Schroeder--26 Jay Barriball 12 Tony Lucia--16 Mike Carman--22 Ryan Flynn 11 Mike Hoeffel--7 Patrick White--13 Nico Sacchetti 21 Jake Hansen--18 Nick Larson--14 Justin Bostrom 15 Joe Miller 10 Aaron Ness--6 R.J. Anderson 28 Cade Fairchild--2 Kevin Wehrs 27 Brian Schack--3 Sam Lofquist 33 Alex Kangas 35 Kent Patterson
  2. 45-24
  3. I missed the post-game interviews. Stoa said that the coaches told him to do it?
  4. Yeah they did. Great to see from this team...especially against UMN. What was with Stoa? I'm betting that Hextall was giving him an earful all game, and Stoa finally had to goon it up.
  5. I marked it down, but it didn't do much after he got pulled.
  6. UND >>> UMass C'mon Corbin, make the right decision.
  7. Nice detective work.
  8. Conversely, if the Gophers happened to get swept this weekend, it would remain a 5pt lead (depending on what MSUM does against CC this weekend). I highly doubt the Gophers will get swept this weekend, but anything is possible in the WCHA.
  9. MN Hockey Hub did articles on the top forward lines and the top defenses in MNHS hockey. Top Forward Lines
  10. AZ beat me to it.
  11. Far and away? The Gophers have a whopping 5 point lead on 7th place MSUM in the WCHA. Nothing is set in stone in the WCHA yet this year. All of the teams are still in the hunt for home ice aside from Tech, and no team has really come out and dominated conference play. If DU and UMN happen to have a couple bad weekends in a row, they could find themselves in 3rd or 4th place pretty easily.
  12. I wouldn't have even called it a fight.
  13. If I were Motzko, I would bench him anyway for a few more games to prove a point. He could have really let the team down if he would have been ineligible for the 2nd half. And really, how hard is it to keep a C average, especially with all the tutors and help available to student athletes...
  14. Really. He was no Wayne.
  15. I played hockey with Wayne Gretzky's son and two of his friends at University Park when the WJC was in GF. That was pretty cool, he was a nice kid... Not ripping on the kid, he was ok, but he was certainly no Wayne Gretzky on the ice. Although he was better than Gretzky (Kauk's friend).
  16. Do you hang out with strictly 2nd graders?
  17. Like Buffalo?
  18. Minimum?
  19. That is awesome! Remembering the good old days with MSC before it was FSN. That move that Shriner put on the Gopher player on the assist of the 7th Sioux goal was sweet.
  20. The NCAA probably didn't want the Sioux to comprise the entire 1st team. Might look like a conspiracy. :D
  21. The Gophers look really tough this year. Getting Schroeder, Hoeffel, and Fairchild back from the WJC will help them even more. Hopefully those players are tired from the games and the travel. I just hope that the Sioux can manage to get a split. Anything more and I would be extremely happy, but I don't see that happening. A split or better would put them in a good spot for the WCHA standings.
  22. Tough weekend for UW, getting swept by NMU. Tonight they had a 5-2 lead with less than 10min to go in the game before NMU stormed back and won in OT. The WCHA definitely seems down this year. There might only be two or three teams that make it into the NCAA's with at-large berths...lots of teams will be gunning for the Broadmoor and the autobid. DU also got beat up by BU...4-1. Goon will be happy to know that Miami lost both games this weekend though. A 4-2 loss to Clarkson and a 3-2 loss to Army, despite outshooting both teams by a combined 100-38.
  23. I really wouldn't have minded seeing Canada lose. Their fans are getting to be too much, and they already have 4 golds in a row, they don't need 5. Go Sweden!!
  24. UMD lost to ND tonight in a close game. 3-1 ND win with an ENG with 1 sec left. Too bad, it would have been cool to see the Bulldogs take down an over-rated CCHA team.
  25. Great to see them pull it off in OT. Two great, close games with BSU yet again. Nice to get those two wins after the GLI debacle. Time to take it to the Gophers and their tired out WJC players!
