  1. He would be a force. It would be fun to watch.
  2. Another blog post from the Sioux hockey blog: http://gfheraldsiouxhockey.blogspot.com/20...draft-news.html Talks about if Toews will come back or not.
  3. Agreed. It will be an interesting time after the draft is complete. I sure hope he comes back though, as he would be a big part of the team next season...and a huge loss if he left.
  4. Another post from the Sioux hockey blog about Bishop: http://gfheraldsiouxhockey.blogspot.com/20...bishops-gm.html I'm liking this kid more and more already. Sounds like he is a very fast skater and will get progressively better each year. Speed kills baby!
  5. That makes a lot of sense...I would bet that is the "recruit" that Suze was alluding to. So Shea Hamilton. He would have to sit out a year for transferring, then he would be eligible the fall of 07. From what I remember about him, he has a good shot. We'll have to see I guess. His frosh year he looked to be a great find for UAA, but he spent alot of the season injured. Last year it looks like he was benched for some games, supposedly from lack of effort. He only had 7pts (3G,4A) for UAA last season in 24 games, but that can be deceiving being that the leading scorer for the SeaWolves only had 15 points.
  6. And it looks like Suze is hinting that it is not Walsky. I am wondering why she is putting Alaska in quotation marks as well. She does seem confident though, like you said, as she said that the recruit signed a few weeks ago already.
  7. Evidently Trupp, Bishop, and another Alaskan player. Trupp and this unknown player for 07-08...Bishop for 06-07.
  8. A UAA poster on USCHO is reporting that another recruit from Alaska (besides Bishop) has recently signed a LOI to play for UND. For 07-08.
  9. And the suspense continues... Does that mean that yet another player is leaving early?
  10. This link was just posted on USCHO: http://hockeyrecruits.blogspot.com/2006/06...io-goalies.html
  11. The kid has a sniper of a wrist shot. I've seen enough of his goals to realize this. And as PCM noted, Hakstol knows what he is talking about. And to say 'only on ss.com' is not true either, as I have posted that exact same statement on USCHO numerous times this season.
  12. I thought you weren't supposed to be a troll? You could say that the Gophers didn't show up for their biggest game of the season last year against Holy Cross as well. With Lammy in net and a more experienced d-corps, I don't think that our defense will be a problem. I see nothing wrong with having Porter or Kozek on the top 2 lines. Kozek showed last year that he has a sniper of a wrist shot...and if you put more skill around him and take him off of the checking line, it opens up his offensive game that much more. I look for him to have a breakout year offensively. The same goes for Porter, as he has been limited the last few years on the grinder/checking line. He should take advantage if given the opportunity to show off his offensive side as well. Already counting UND out? And so early! They are still very talented. I look for them to have another good year; with hopefully another trip to the F4. With posts like yours, there's no reason to take you seriously.
  13. I take it you've never done an anaerobic workout if you are surprised that Toews threw up on the stationary bike.
  14. I think that keeping them split would provide a more balanced offense, and at the same time force opposing teams to have to focus on two great lines, instead of just singling out one 'super' line to defend against. Agreed, hopefully this is something that we will have to debate about in the fall, as both Oshie and Toews could bolt. We shall see.
  15. I don't think that sagard meant it in that way. Whichever record you look at, either UND's or UMN's, UMN is leading the overall series, so it's not a big deal either way.
  16. Neither of them are goalies.
  17. Hopefully Porter will have a great senior season this upcoming year. He certainly has the ability to have a breakout season.
  18. That would be sweet if the Sioux could land him, it looks like he is putting up some good numbers (and breaking records). Maybe he is the possible recruit to take a goalie roster spot should Jordan go pro.
  19. This guy sounds like he would be a great pickup for the Sioux, either this season if Parise leaves, or the following season if Parise stays.
  20. Good post Sicatoka. I agree that defense isn't a concern this season, so having LaPoint go play in the USHL will be a good thing, as he can develop some experience. I still think that Marto will come to UND this fall, if anything just too add some depth to the d-corps and to get some WCHA experience for future years. Goaltending should be ok as well. We will see what happens with Parise. If he leaves, I am still confident in Lammy's ability, Hakstol would just have to find another goalie recruit before fall. Forward will be short next season. Hopefully we don't have too many injuries. I think that Genoway will see much more ice time as a forward than as a dman. I also think that they will bring in Trupp this fall. I think Spirko's leaving changed that decision. As far as Forney, I'm not sure. If Hakstol can manage to pickup a couple decent recruits from the BCHL, USHL, etc, then I see him going to the USHL for a season. If not, I think that he will come in the fall as well. If both Trupp and Forney come to UND this fall, that definitely leaves the cupboard a little bare for the 07-08 recruits. Hopefully Hakstol can get committments from some of the players that are being discussed in the potential recruits thread.
  21. This off-season will never end. The Sioux will still be very talented despite all these early departures, but losing 4 or 5 of their best players in one off-season will definitely bring them back with the rest of the pack.
