I hope you're typing this joke from a computer right between the stove and the sink...

And one was stellar, the other will never compare.

Haha...Pens self-destructing already. 10 seconds into the game, Crosby gets called for boarding. 15 seconds later, another delayed penalty on the Pens, but the Habs score before the whistle blows anyways only 32 seconds in. WOOOHOOOO

Why did the woman cross the road? What the heck is she doing out of the kitchen?! _________________________________________ What have you done wrong when your wife comes out of the kitchen and starts nagging you? You made the chain too long.

Congratulations. 3D TV anyone?

Yeah, it's been an interesting playoffs so far...and it's even better watching in HD.

This will probably get lost in the shuffle, but if you have a minute, this is a great story with a lot of great quotes about Bobby Hull and the Chicago Blackhawks. http://nhl.fanhouse.com/2010/03/05/golden-...for-bobby-hull/ ""Other than the 15 years I skated up and down the rink at Chicago Stadium," said Bobby Hull, "I have never known happiness like I do today." After a bitter and complete separation of more than 35 years, "The Golden Jet" has returned to his beloved Blackhawks as a team ambassador with fellow Chicago hockey legends Stan Mikita, Tony Esposito and Denis Savard. When Rocky Wirtz assumed the role as team chairman in October 2007 after the death of his father Bill, one of his first moves was to reconnect the fanbase and the franchise with its Original Six roots. Although he owns a home in Florida, Hull rarely misses a Blackhawks game at the United Center. I spoke with the Hall of Famer in Chicago on Thursday night. Actually, I was more than happy to just sit back and listen."

That's it? I thought he was so great...

A man hits a woman with his car....who's at fault? I dunno, why is the man driving in the kitchen...?

OK, so in the past, for whatever reason, I'd see these vids on YouTube that this old guy from Brooklyn screams in about random shi....stuff. Well, looking for a specific Sioux vid, I came across one by him labeled "the fighting sioux". Not really hockey related, but thought it was pretty funny, seeing as I could relate. It is a bit dated, but still thought it was worth sharing. The Towers' gotta love it, haha.

Here is another pretty brutal hit by CJ Ludwig a couple years ago. What's funny is, the video is uploaded by a YouTube user by the name of "cjludwig17". Hmmmmm....

Who could blame them? I'm sure some of their tv's got wrecked when that building collapsed at UND, so they got new ones.

Montreal takes down Jim Dahl's Caps.

Well, wouldn't saying "Wild Nokotas" be like saying "toasted toast"? Wild is a given I'm pretty sure. How about the "Crazy Horses" with a Nokota as a logo, and in honor of Crazy Horse?

Well, with BC winning, I kind of feel it takes one more sting out of the pain of our Sioux losing. We lost to Yale by one goal playing one of our worst games. Yale gave BC it's toughest game of the tournament. I think that really shows what kind of team we lost to in Yale. Sure, maybe if we had OUR A-game, it might be a different story, and BC may have never gotten that chance if they had to play us at our best instead of Yale, but even so, BC played one heck of a tournament. If you can't beat 'em, join 'em, so call me a BC fan.

I met two guys while working a bar here in Wisconsin. I noticed one was wearing a Sioux hat. When seeing it, I inquisitively asked him why he had a Sioux hat on. He just thought it was a sweet hat, and after I proceeded to tell him I was a graduate of UND. Then, he was all excited, and called his buddy over. His buddy was like "what's going on" to his buddy, and then the guy told him I was a graduate of UND. Then THAT guy got all excited and proceeded to show me his giant tattoo of the Sioux logo on the left side of his lower left leg, for all to see. Neither one of these guys went to UND, nor were Native Americans, yet both were sporting Sioux logos, one permanent. However, both knew exactly who AND what the symbol represented. I thought that was pretty neat (although confusing, haha). What school of UND's "calibre" gets that sort of attention? Sure, the big time universities get that sort of attention I'm sure, but a [recently] former D2 school, in a state not many venture to (nor live in), in complete obscurity...that's unique and special. It's unfortunate that this sort of thing will die. You won't get someone tattooing a Rough Rider (or whatever) logo on themselves just because it looks cool. Not a chance...

I was referring to a potential AHL or WHL team using the name/logo. Obviously the university wants nothing to do with the name/logo for its own use, but what would it take to acquire the name/logo for non-collegiate use.
-
A quick thought... I wonder what it would take to obtain the ownership of the Fighting Sioux name and logo from the university who would still own the rights to it even after the nickname is gone. My guess is, this would be a pretty big hurdle, especially if the university really wanted to put a kabosh to the whole name and logo.
-
You know what, Ralph said this: "May the logo and the Fighting Sioux name live on forever!" Ralph Engelstad - October 5, 2001 He never said in what manner, though. I would LOVE to see an AHL or WHL team in Grand Forks, even though I don't live there anymore. I think it could be successful, although I don't think it'd be quite as easy to happen as some would think. Here's hoping to any successful venture someone may try.

This won't happen, and shouldn't happen, for a variety of reasons. 1) They DON'T want you to continue to yell "Go Sioux" or anything Sioux related. Even with a new nickname, you'll still get some of these chants early on, but people will transition much quicker with a nickname. 2) MERCHANDISING. It's all about the dollar. If you have apparel and products with just "North Dakota" on it, then you'll only be making so much money. If you have a new nickname, you can sell both "New Nickname" products AND plain "North Dakota" products, like they did with Sioux and like what every other school does. This money made goes to the university, so they'd be stupid not to be the most profitable they can be when it comes to selling university related merchandise. 3) As much as it hurts us to lose Fighting Sioux, other schools have lost their nicknames they took pride in before, and almost all have transitioned fairly well. Of course, for the first couple years, it will be tough on everyone, but most people will take to the nickname. It's only fair to the incoming athletes who never played as "Fighting Sioux" athletes that we support them and their nickname. It's tough for everyone that the nickname is gone, but we need a new nickname. It's the only logical choice.

You sound paranoid about anything. "Sioux's a girl's name", right?
