  1. Yep. It almost seems like the old POI "no newbies" during Gophs/Sioux week was a good plan.

    <{POST_SNAPBACK}>

I have no problem at all with Gopher fans posting here especially the regulars throughout the season. When punks like PISSStar sign up and immediately start with the tired old "Sue" attack they are going to get jumped on. PISSSTAR is probably about an 18 year old kid with an 11 year old mentality based on his post. I am sure we will see plenty more of this in the days to come.

  2. Let the games begin, I am sure there will be plenty of Goofer fans signing up here for the first time in the coming days just like PissStar to try and rattle peoples cages. Ignore is the best method of making these type of punks go away.

  3. With so much on the line the nerves are going to be at a high level for this game. The winner will have bragging rights for the whole summer over the other. There is no team I hate losing to more than the Goofers. The Sioux must play physical but cannot take as many needless penalties as they did out East. Eventually that is going to cost us. We need to play aggressive but play smart as well. I thought Smaby had a real good couple of games, he was just as physical as Greene but w/out as many penalties. The Goofies will have a lot of time to work on their PP and you can bet Lucia Pet is telling his players that scoring on the PP will be the key to the game as UND is going to take some penalties. Watching Rosen's Sports Sunday last night here in Mpls. they had Tallackson, Potulny and Irmen on. I hope the Sioux knock the Goofs right in the mouth and knock the cocky smirks off those guys faces.

  4. Man, I am pumped....wish I could be there and can't wait until the work day is over....Let's Go Sioux.....Let's Go Sioux......Let's Go Sioux.......I think we are going to come out flying, hopefully the kids from Beantown won't know what hit em'

  5. Obviously the person who painted those boards was a UND fan. :):0

That said, I think Goligoski has been a very nice addition the Minnesota D. Hopefully, some NHL team drafts his ass and takes him away. ;)

    <{POST_SNAPBACK}>

He was taken in the 2nd round I believe. He is a decent player but nothing to fear IMO.

  6. I really think after the Sioux beat BU, Columbus is just a short commute away. BC is quite small upfront: I think our Dmen beat them into submission early and they fold like the Goofies did in the FF 3rd place game.

    <{POST_SNAPBACK}>

The biggest KEY will be if the zebras let our d-men pound them into submission without calling ticky tack penalties. If the d are allowed to play physical within the rules then they should be fine but we cannot take numerous penalties and get down 5-3 like we did against the Goofies and expect to get away with it in a one and done format. It is fine to take penalties to prevent good scoring chances but the needless ones with the sticks will send you home.

  7. Here's how I look at it.  Considering the the U can't talk about player's injuries without a release, I suspect that points to Prp having a fairly serious injury.  Otherwise Hak could say "Mike got dinged a little on Thursday and we just held him out to make sure he's ok for the regionals".

As for Murray, if he's out in LA getting looked at, I suspect the doctors out there will err on the side of caution and tell young Brady to protect his future.  I don't know anything about his injury.  I just hope it might be the type where you can't hurt it anymore by playing on it.  But you have to wonder if playing is a good idea.

So for me, I expect we'll see the same lineup we did on Saturday against the Gophers.

    4 lines

    1. Spirko, Zajac, Stafford

    2. Porter, McMahon, Genoway

    3.  The Horsemen

    4.  The Red Peppers

    <{POST_SNAPBACK}>

If this is indeed the line up our Defenseman and goaltending will have to be excellent as they were at the X. While I more than applaud the effort of "The Horseman and the Red Peppers" at the X they are not exactly scoring machines. They probably have about 6 goals between all six of them w/out looking at the stats. If they can do what they did at the X, not get scored on most importantly and get on the forecheck and hit some people who knows. I think we can get by BU with that line-up but we will need some breaks to beat BC with that line-up especially in their backyard.

  8. It seems like the team is really keeping the status of both Prpich and Murray "in-house". Maybe to keep the opponents guessing, even if it has been determined that neither will play. I do not expect we will see either in the line-up but I sure hope I am wrong.

  9. I sure hope Murray and Prpich will be able to rejoin the line-up. It would be hateful to have to head east without a full deck but based on the teams performance at the X, that was a drive and hunger that started with blasting the Dogz that I have not seen all season. The line of Massen, Canady, and Fabian to me is like 3 new players are in those uniforms, they are forechecking and cycling the puck very effectively and throwing punishing checks in the corners. If the boys bring the same kind of intensity and effort out east that we saw at the X I like our chances. I still would like to see Stafford step up his game though, I think he will be a key if we get to Columbus. I never would have believed that Sparky would have more points than Stafford at this point of the season.

  10. NCAA Hockey Coverage

There won't be any of the "B" announcers for college hockey this year.  Bill Clement and Gary Thorne for the Sioux games.

    <{POST_SNAPBACK}>

Those guys are awesome to listen to, they are the best duo for NHL games. It will be soooo refreshing not to have to listen to the Wooger and mop head for once. Go Sioux

  11. I'm surprised FSN would show this when the Wisco/CC games are at the same times, but, that's what the email says. Maybe the Wisco alternate has the Grand Rapids region on.

    <{POST_SNAPBACK}>

If true that is great news! It seems like we go through this every year lately especially since the Victory Sports debacle.

  12. At least we will get to hear some good announcers (talking a lot about the Boston schools  )

NCAA MEN'S ICE HOCKEY TV ANNOUCERS

    Worcester, MA - March 25-26

Gary Thorne - Play x Play

    Bill Clement - Color

Grand Rapids, MI - March 25-26

Eric Frede - Play x Play

    Darren Pang - Color

    Amherst, MA - March 26-27

Dave Ryan - Play x Play

    Barry Melmose - Color

    Minneapolis, MN - March 26-27

Bob Kurtz - Play x Play

    Fred Pletsch - Color

    <{POST_SNAPBACK}>

Hey that sure as hell beats Wooger and mop head. Clement and Thorne are great now if I could just see the game.

  13. I'd guess the Sioux are going to have to at least match the money Edmonton will offer him.

    <{POST_SNAPBACK}>

With the lock out situation I would be surprised to see NHL teams sign any of their picks unless something is settled. I would think they would save as much cash as they can. If Greene does not come back we will be really thin back there next year.

  14. He got less ice time because he made a couple mistakes on the shift that led directly to Minnesota's first goal. If you didn't see it the first time, watch a tape - his stick gets lifted, he gets outmuscled, pass goes over to Irmen and bang! the otherwise-dead Gophers get on the board.

He will be fine; he's got good hands, good skating stride and agility, and does a lot of things well. A summer of weight-training and he'll get the extra strength needed to excel in the WCHA.

    <{POST_SNAPBACK}>

This is what I saw as well, on the Irmen goal he had his back turned to Irmen who was planted right in the slot. It was Radke's job to cover him and he had his back turned to the play. Those kind of mistakes will send you home at this time of the year. From what I have seen he needs to get a lot stronger on his skates.

  15. Basketball, a sport invented by Winnipeg native Dr Naismith while he was teaching at a Massachusetts private school so that the girls at the school could have a sport to play too.  Get out of our Hockey rink!

    <{POST_SNAPBACK}>

No kidding, Ralph did not build the arena for basketball. That is one of the dumbest things I have ever heard of that the Sioux can not even practice on their home ice for the most important game/s of the year. Get basketball out of the Ralph for good!!!!!!!!!!! The ice will be much better as well w/out basketball.

  16. The TV schedule shows all regionals on ESPNU, available only on directtv (609), not on dish. Have no idea whether ESPN will sell some rights to Fox regionals. Wish I still had directtv, the $12 sports pack addition would be a no brainer for next week.

    <{POST_SNAPBACK}>

This really stinks, I have Dish Network and from what I hear ESPN U is not available although I have not yet called to confirm. I love how they put these games on a channel that virtually no one gets. What a bunch of crap. For those of us in the cities Senser's has always come through, maybe we can pack that place with Sioux fans and get them to turn the sound on. I am sure they have the capability to pick up ESPN U.

  17. Time to get some payback from last year when an outplayed Pioneer team got a lucky bounce and knocked the Sioux out of the tournament. That game still pisses me off. It will be tough playing a fresh team but I think the boys are up to the task. Maybe some of the seniors are finally realizing this is it for a lot of them in their hockey careers!!

  18. He signed with the Goofers, so he is now the enemy. I don't care about this getting to see him in the WCHA crap. I would have rather seen him go out to BU and play than to play for the Goofs. Let the Goofs get all the attention next year, the Sioux have a very good class coming in and a regional at the Ralph. I am fine with flying under the radar for once.

  19. What a glorious day.

    <{POST_SNAPBACK}>

Ohhhh....the trolls will be out on here now...especially since they can't go to Piss on Ice anymore. That new site GPL they have stinks.

  20. TSN report from last night.    congrats to the goophs.  hopefully when he gets there he doesn't have any classes with any of the hotties the U of M has to offer.  being a stud like that and following your girlfriend around can be a bad thing.

    <{POST_SNAPBACK}>

Teams are really going to be gunning for the Goofers next year. Hopefully all the high expectations will lead to failure. Luckily the games are not played on paper cause the Goofs will be loaded next season.

  21. After listening to Lou Nanne ooh and ahh about Lee, I expect him to win it.

He said something to the extent of:  Lee is the most heralded player in the last 15 years on MN high school hockey.

    <{POST_SNAPBACK}>

Yeah I heard him say that on the broadcast, I think that is going overboard. He has some great talent but he will have a big adjustment to make coming into the WCHA right out of high school. We will have 3 frosh playing regularly next year, four if you count Radke who will basically be a freshman all over again. They will have to learn in a hurry. We will be very solid at forward but D will be very inexperienced but with more offensive minded d-men.
