Sounds like a bunch of crap to me. I am hoping Murray can get 5-6 more goals next year to help ease the loss of ZP. He is a very talented player but needs a good centerman to dish the puck and there was none better than ZP at the college level.
-
I don't think Brandt has gained Blais full confidence, even after 3 years in the program. I really hope next year we have an established go to guy in the pipes for the post-season. It has to be a distraction when the players do not know who is going to be in goal. We have not had post-season success since Karl left and a big issue in my opinion has been musical goalies.
-
I would be very surprised if Ziggy is still a member of the team next year. If he could not crack the line-up this year, I don't see it happening next year with another goalie coming in.
-
Agreed, the bottom line is they did not get the job done. They did not get a puck in the net. Take the loss as tough as it was and live with it. Although it is obvious the Sioux are a better team than Denver, the best team does not always win in a single elimination playoff. Credit the other team, don't whine, that is for Goofer fans to do.

This is BS, not true. Not a funny joke.
-
The first thought that will come to my mind when thinking of the Parise era is a lack of playoff success and unrealized potential. I almost would have bet the house that we would have hung #8 in the Parise era. I am glad I still have a roof over my head.
-
Well, with comments like that he obviously was looking ahead. I think we will be more of a TEAM next year.
-
That's what I like to hear some positive talk in what has been a couple of gray days for Sioux fans!
-
DG, while I also believe that to be true we do not know that for sure. There also is the risk of having no NHL to play in next year.
-
I would think that either Stafford or Murray will have to play center, nothing against Genoway but I do not see him as a first line center. Man no Sioux Hockey for 6 months this really SUCKS!
-
I have to say I could really careless what number he wears in the pros. I am still pretty pissed off about the way the season ended. I know it would be hard to turn down that kind of money but IMO he bailed on the team awfully quickly. I have to say in reading on POI where Ballard said he is not going to pursue turning pro early. I found that to be refreshing. Does that mean he won't leave this summer? No, but it gives me the impression of more loyalty to the program. Ballard was a higher pick than Parise and is at least very close to Parise in talent. As much as I dislike Ballard I have to give him props on this one.

I know this is early speculation but who replaces Parise on the top line next year and centers Bo and Murray. I think those two will stay on the top line. Genoway? Zajac, I know he is talented but that is a lot to put on the shoulders of a frosh. Will Blais try and get another late recruit to play center on the 4th line? We have a BIG hole to fill. It is still SO frusturating to think we lost to Denver, one of the most frusturating games I have ever watched.
-
The Sioux will be fine next year assuming no more departures at all positions but center. Genoway, McMahon and Zajac are the only centers slated to be on the roster, we are going to be thin at center.
-
Go home Basil, the season is over.
-
I am kind of surprised that a guy with the competitive drive of Parise would want to go out with that loss to Denver. I do remember him saying though that winning the gold at the WJ was more important than winning a NC at UND, which I can understand since you are playing for your country rather than a university. That is a lot of money to turn down, let's hope we DO NOT lose anyone else.
-
As a 6th round pick and a cash strapped Penguins team, I doubt Pittsburgh has any interest in signing Schneider at this point. He had an average year in my opinion. Part of that is probably due to playing w/ Smaby/Bina rather than Hale, quite a difference there. Schneider will be here.
-
I do not think anyone is bagging on Zach. As a Sioux fan I am disappointed, I am not a NJ Devils fan, I am a Sioux fan. Given the abrupt and unexpected ending to the season this is bad news for the Sioux. I really expected he would be back next year. That being said as everyone knows one player does not make a team and who knows maybe the Sioux will be more of a team next year and that will be the difference in reaching the frozen four.
-
Based on Stafford missing a wide open net in the Denver game he better work on his shot and stay in school rather than opt in. I do not think anyone else will leave. The Devils wanted Zach for their Cup run, Greene would not help Edmonton in the playoffs, I would say he will be back.
-
I agree 100% DG, next year's team really had the chance to be something special . Not that it still can't be w/out Parise. I was really confident we would win a NC before Zach left and not having that happen makes this sting as a Sioux fan.
-
Looks like Zajac will have to be the number one center next year as a freshman.
This obviously puts a big whole in the lineup
-
I can agree with that PCM, as a fan it would have been a lot easier to swallow if we would have at least made it to Boston.
-
If he thinks he was mugged and clutched and grabbed in college wait until he gets a taste of the NHL. Guys are way bigger and he had trouble sometimes in the corners against college d. I am sure the $ is what made the decision.
-
This is the part about college sports that I hate but it is the reality of it. Not exactly stirring success during the Parise era, one NCAA win vs Holy Cross. It is pretty frusturating. IMO we are better off w/ a player like Panzer who is going to be around for 4 years than a player like Parise who is going to bolt after two years.
-
Excellent point Dagies, Like Blais says it is not about how the other team plays it is about how we play. Roll 4 lines 3 sets of d and Holy Cross will wear down midway through the 2nd.

I was not there so I cannot comment on that one. I can't see Poyulny doing that but I would not put it past Taffe. He was an a**hole. One of my most disliked Goofers of all time.
