Speaking of official visits, the first home game of the year will also be the first group of kids in town on official (or for some unofficial) visits. Can't wait to see who all is coming to Grand Forks for a visit!

I'm impressed with the twins but I'm wondering if they would need to play defense or maybe one on offense and one defense. Depends on where they have Santiago slated as I believe Oliviera will be a RB. Pigskinner, do you know how much contact there has been between UND and the boys? And what level of interest UND has?

UND appears to have received a commitment from Mason Bennett. Had an offer from NDSU.

One thing of note - NMSU starting QB Tyler Rogers tried to verbal to UND, but we said no because we had Riddle and Palendech already verbal. Rogers could have been a good one.

No it is not. And I apologize for not saying the name because I don't want to put it out there in case it's not true (although it's been confirmed as likely).

The other one will be in the next week based on what I heard.

Really looking forward to seeing how the team performs. I have a feeling the offense will not be able to run the ball much (I really don't trust the right side of the line) and will have to rely on the short passing game to move the chains. Would love to be proven wrong on the running game, but I don't see it. Defensively, we have so many new starters and contributors that it will be interesting to see how everyone gels and if we can put together a solid effort. By all indications the defense is miles ahead of where we were last year and playing quite agressive. I really wish we were a little deeper on the d-line for the first couple games, but maybe some of the people pushed into some playing time will surprise. Like everyone else, I really want to see us be competitive and cut down on stupid penalties. And please, please, please no cocking off after giving up a 12 yard reception for a first down.

So, I guess we have a game in two days against a team in California.......

Other than Carr sounds like there will be a couple more leaving. One may have already left and the other hasn't but appears to be leaning that way.

Carr is no longer on the roster for the SJSU game notes. Main reason I'm going with hurt or suspended is because Peters was listed as the backup punter.

Jenkins Moore will likely be up there as the year goes on. Also, Stockwell is hurt which is why I think Cox is the backup at both tackles. Hope that Butler can get some PT.

Kyle Woodsmall as the backup NG? This depth chart is very surprising.

Also, out of all the JUCOs we were bringing in, I'm surprised only one is going to be starting (and if Bakker isn't in two deep, then non of them are even on the two deep).

That was the most surprising thing to me. However, maybe the two JUCO DBs are having trouble digesting the playbook and are going to be brought along a little more slowly. Wonder if it's possible that Flowers (or Blackmon for that matter) could redshirt?

Also, after almost leaving team, appears Taj Rich is starting WIL.

Carter is backup CB - Tillman and Brown starting. Neither JUCO transfer is in two deep William James starting safety with Reyes - Baylee Carr and Josiah Montague backups Colton Boas starting Center Garman starting RB with Simmons as backup

Supposed to have the first depth chart released sometime today too I believe. Anxious to see what it looks like.
