  1. That goes without saying.
  2. There you go. That's one of those decisions I don't agree with. They should pay Dirgler to post on USCHO.

    Sunday Games

I hope you're working on replenishing the wine casks. The pipeline is dry.
  4. Well they must or Sweeney wouldn't have asked me.
  5. USCHO is just like any other news organization. They make decisions about what they're going to emphasize. Not everyone agrees with those decisions because they can't please everyone all the time. I don't always agree with their editorial decisions, either, but I also realize that the site isn't designed just to please me. The USCHO management knows that Sioux fans account for a large percentage of visits to their Web site. The idea that USCHO goes out of its way to snub UND is, therefore, quite ridiculous. They're smart enough to not bite the hand that feeds them.
  6. Believe it or not, Sweeney asked me before he asked Matt Watkins. But because I was covering the game for the Associated Press and USCHO, I had to decline. Besides, Matt had his suit on and was ready for the role. There also no way I can compete with him in the youthful good looks department.
  7. USCHO was an ESPN affiliate until two or three years ago. Now they're a CSTV affiliate. EDIT: This is how CSTV snubbed the Sioux.
  8. No, they're not.
  9. Hence, your theory is wrong.
  10. No it isn't. It origninated as a Gopher hockey fan site and evolved into covering all of college hockey. It's run out of Minnesota.
  11. Such as?
  12. The USCHO recap of tonight's game is up. Go here, scroll down to Saturday's game results and click on the recap link. I asked Troy Jutting what he thought UND's chances were the rest of the way and this is what he said:
  13. None of which changes anything about what I wrote.
  14. So was I when I wrote: You're operating on the assumption that would be the case, but you don't know.
  15. The point is that it's ridiculous for any of us to judge how much talent he does or doesn't have when we've seen him play so little. We haven't seen him play much because of the injury. I'm not going to pretend to know what should happen next season. It depends on how serious the injury is. It depends on how quickly Forney recovers after the surgery. It depends on how hard he works to get back into shape. So there are just too many variables for anyone to claim to know what should be done. I'm sure that after the season is done, Hakstol will carefully weigh the options and make the decision he thinks is best for Forney and the team. I have no idea what that decision will be. All I know is that I talked to Michael on media day before the season started. He told me that he was 100 percent healthy. Now, maybe he wasn't as healthy as he thought he was. Or maybe he wanted to make the team so badly that he wasn't the best person to judge his physical fitness. Or maybe he re-injured the shoulder in practice or during a game. I don't know. And because I don't know, I'm not going to second-guess Hakstol's decision.
  16. You're operating on the assumption that would be the case, but you don't know. And it's easy to say what should have been done using 20/20 hindsight.
  17. That's brilliant. Everyone knows that the USHL is the place where players go to magically heal from injuries.
  18. No. It's been reported that he'll have surgery on his shoulder in the off season.
  19. It's hard to judge because he has been playing hurt. Hakstol says he expects Forney to play on the first or second line next season. That's how much ability he thinks Forney has. And who would know better than Hak?
  20. Judge Jahnke rules that the NCAA can keep its documents sealed. Bummer.
  21. You're obviously not familiar with Andy Schneider's description of Matt Greene after UND beat Minnesota in the third place game of the 2005 Final Five. Schneider called Greene a "natural born sniper" after Greene scored the game-winning goal in that game.
