Team USA wins it 2-1! Canada and the US play for the gold on Monday. Should be a heck of a game.

Finland scores with 59 seconds left. Sounds like Montoya was shaken up stopping a shot. 2-1 USA. Time for the Americans to suck it up and put it away.

Finland pulls its goalie for the last 2 minutes. Audio cuts out again. Someone just went off the ice for high-sticking. Don't know which team. Sounds like Finland is on the power play, but I can tell for sure because the audio cuts in and out. It is a power play for Finland. Didn't hear who committed the penalty.

Finnish defenseman takes a chance to pinch in, setting up a 2-on-1 rush for Team USA. Still 2-0 USA. A little more than four minutes left.

SCSU's decison couldn't have had anything to do with the fact that the Webcast is associated with Ralph Engelstad Arena, could it? No. Of course not. Tim Hennessy said on Friday night's radio broadcast that the excuse given was that the game wasn't sold out. So how does it make sense to broadcast it locally, but not allow the Webcast? Typical SCSU tricks.

Thanks for your comments, dagies. It's good to read the impressions of those who actually saw the game. If the Sioux get the win Saturday night, Friday's tie won't look bad at all. Blais said in the pre-game that he'd take a split. I'd be happy with 3 of 4 points, and I'm sure Blais would, too.

Today's St. Cloud Times is reporting that SCSU defenseman Tim Conboy won't play this weekend for academic reasons. I read earlier this week that Huskies captain Ryan LaMere wouldn't play, either, but it appears that he's now back in the lineup. There are some good comments from Sioux players in the article. With Conboy out and LaMere hurting, it could bode well for the Halmarscino Line. Virg Foss has an article in today's Grand Forks Herald about the UND-SCSU series. In his weekly hockey column, Foss talks to Zach Parise about star players getting worse treatment from WCHA officiating.

And the "n" word is frequently used in rap songs. That doesn't mean it's a good idea to start using it in public. (Think of Jackie Chan in Rush Hour.) I've been a frequent critic of SCSU's President Roy Saigo and have no use for political correctness. But attacking Saigo based on his race is unacceptable in my opinion.
