Dave Hakstol said on this morning's radio show with Tim Hennessy that Mike Prpich wouldn't play against MTU Friday, but there was a good chance he'd play on Saturday.

But that's 67 fewer verses than "99 Bottles of Beer On the Wall."

I remember that wise old man Jason Notermann saying that hockey can be a weird game. Sometimes you'll score 5 goals on 10 shots and other times you can't score 1 goal on 50 shots. Sounds like BC had one of those games.

Pretty amazing stat for BC, a team that's been great defensively most of the season. BC also went 0-6 on the power play, which didn't help.

Now that the regular season is done, I think it's interesting to look back at the comments Dean Blais made in this USCHO story just prior to the start of the season. With a schedule that enabled the Sioux to end the regular season on top of the WCHA and on top of the PairWise Rankings, I'd say that the Sioux couldn't have asked for anything better.

Obviously, your reading incomprehension and misinterpreting skills need some work.

Not that I know of. I'm not sure why they switched to Joe DiMaggio's. They've been doing the show from there for quite some time, however.

Now it sounds as if Prpich's injury was a bit more serious than originally thought. I'd rather that he sat out this series and got healthy for the Final Five. Blais is also a bit concerned about Bochenski's lack of scoring. This would be a good weekend for him to get back on track.

You make a good point. My problem with Woog is that he constantly bashes other teams for not having the type of defensemen that Minnesota has, as if it's the key to success for everyone in the WCHA. Obviously, as the Sioux have shown this season, it's not. At any rate, I didn't want to turn this into a Woog-bashing thread because I think he generally provides some good insights on college hockey.

The first time I learned anything about this subject was when Blais mentioned it on last week's UND coaches show. This is the quote from my summary:

True. With apologies to Tommiejo, all of our chickens haven't hacked yet. The Sioux have six losses, only half of which could reasonably be attributed to goaltending. The other half were all 2-1 losses which were caused by lack of scoring. There was also the 1-1 tie with Denver. Lack of scoring has been as much of a problem as goaltending. I'd feel much better heading into the playoffs knowing that Bochenski was back on track. Same here.

Why? They'd be nothing without backchecking forwards.

Let's not jump to conclusions. Do we know that not allowing MTU to practice at REA was Blais' decision to make? I'm not sure it was.
